Don’t expect to receive anything other than a warm vape at best regardless of wattage level. I just about got away with it with bakery and dessert profiles but menthols, fruits and beverage flavours are likely to perform better. I feel it’s important to mention battery performance over time. It was quite impressive only having a detrimental effect on flavour towards the end of the charge, regardless of battery size.

At the top if a 510 fitment and the Innokin Kroma-Z comes with a nice array of drip-tips which are designed for DTL, RDL or MTL so you have every option you could want. Nicely done. Use the + and – buttons to navigate the options. The fire button selects/activates the mode or setting.

Design and Build Quality

It’s not exactly exciting to hold, but its functional, practical and is to the standard we expect from Innokin – even though its a pod mod. How To fill the Innokin Kroma-Z The beauty of this pod is the filling port though. Located at the rear of the pod, meaning you’ve no need to remove the pod from the device to re-fill. I’m a big fan of that. Now Innokin aren’t new to pod systems, but this is the first time Innokin has slapped the ‘Kroma’ name on a pod kit and added a ‘Z’ on the end for good measure! For the 0.8Ω Z-Coil, recommended at 15 to 18 Watts, I went with a 50Vg 50PG 20mg Nic Salt – GotSalts – Peachy Promise.

Much like the original Kroma-A, the Innokin Kroma-Z has an internal battery, but this time they’ve increased it to 3000mAh. When it comes to charging, its a fairly big battery so expect it to take at least an hour to charge. drip-tip compatible and inside the kit you get 3 drip-tips. In my opinion two for MTL and one for DTL. Very nice to receive 3 drip-tips in the kit.The Innokin Kroma 217 Z Force Kit represents my very first written review with this particular Chinese vape manufacturer but that’s not to say I’m unfamiliar with them. Holding up and down brings you into a menu where you can adjust screen on-time (5 to 180s) and Cutoff time (3 to 18s). But there will certainly be those who appreciate this second level of airflow adjustment. More so for those who have a specific MTL restriction they are searching for. Customisable with coil choice for either a mouth to lung inhale (a tight vape draw similar to a cigarette) or sub ohm style vape (more vapour production, more clouds, more e-liquid flavour) Each Kroma Z pod will hold up to 2ml of e-liquid and you can use any flavour you want with this kit. Aside from giving you more options when it comes to e-liquid, the pods also feature a side filling port which means it doesn’t even have to be removed from the device to be refilled. When it comes to selecting an e-liquid, you can use 50/50 and high PG options for the MTL coils, while the RDTL coils will work best with 60% or 70% VG e-liquid. The pod also features adjustable airflow, so you can experience either a tight or loose inhale.

You’re given the entire length of the main display to fire the device. Such are the ergonomics that multiple finger firing is possible, adding to the comfort factor while vaping. I’m a big fan of the display, it’s very bright, super clear and makes full use of its available space. Adapter catches onto the device strongly with a magnetic connection. It is with a tank on top holding on strongly. You can put up to a 28mm tank on top without overhang, but I think it goes best with an MTL tank. Z-coils are widely available, and you can be assured they will continue to be available for many years to come with their growing popularity. The Kroma-Z Pod Mod borrows its sleek styling and feel from the Innokin Kroma-R including the side-firing bar & Screen.

The Kroma Z Pod is also distinguished with a fabrication of magnesium alloys which is surprising light. It does not forget ergonomics with a compact size and a lateral “trigger” for intuitive and comfortable utilisation. Refresh mode can be used when flavours become muted or dull. The coil is pulsed at 40% of the current power, drawing liquid in to prevent residue build up I used Double Drip Cherry Bakewell Tart, a bakery profile with 3mg freebase nicotine included in the short fill bottle. Note: the Kroma Z is also entirely compatible with the all the excellent coils from the Z Coils and Z Coil Mesh (Zenith, Zlide, etc.). Reason for being thrilled is simply because I love the Kroma-R kit and now there is a pod-mod that is compatible with the Z-coil line.
