About this deal

Take a few moments to enjoy each artwork and you'll be surprised how every detail reveals itself as you look!

Honestly, there's nothing that I didn't like about this story. It's beautifully written, and each character has their own memorable personality . . . Add it to your TBR, because I'm telling you, you're not going to want to miss it Together, Renata and Castian have a chance to save everything, if only they can set aside their complex and intense feelings for each other. Renata’s heart may still beat for Dez, but as the danger of their quest increases, so does her attraction to Castian. Praise for Zoraida Cordova ** With gorgeous writing, loads of action, and a surprising but satisfying ending, Illusionary has it all in spades. Lovers of high-fantasy series featuring fierce heroines, like those by Sarah J. Maas, Kristin Cashore, or Tomi Adeyemi, will not want to miss itEven better the second time around! Although rereading Illusionary made me realize that I still haven’t really forgiven Dez and Margo😆 This book was character development at its finest. Renata grows so much since the events of Incendiary, both emotionally and in regards to her power, and I loved seeing that progress. Not that I didn’t like her in the first book, but it’s always beautiful to see a character become a better version of themselves. I can say without a shadow of a doubt that she’s one of my new favorite YA heroines. (The fact that she has my brother’s name is an added bonus.) I also adored seeing more of Castian, who is a character I was already in love with from Incendiary despite we don’t see much of him. I say this all the time, but Zoraida Córdova is the only author who managed to make me fall in love with a character and a ship by only getting glimpses of him and by throwing clues at his real motives. I always thought that there was more to the Matahermano than what everyone knew and this sequel confirmed it. If the love was strong before, it’s made of adamantium steel now.

I felt the pacing flowed nicely throughout Illusionary. The events of the book kept me hooked from beginning to end. I enjoyed seeing the characters travel all over Puerto Leones. Córdova brought this world to life with her gorgeous writing style and the inclusion of all the different customs/traditions and foods. The world-building was beautifully fleshed out. Thank you Zoraida Córdova and Little, Brown and Company for an ARC in exchange for an honest review. Now this one, I liked this second book A LOT more than I did the first one. I felt like this book had a much more coherent line of action, that the characters decisions were understandable even when I didn't agree with them, and that the overall story and writing was a so much better. I'm very glad to have kept going in the series and have this conclude on a high-note. Renata’s story and how she confronts her traumas, represented by the grey, to unearth her own identity; the one she chooses rather than the one she has been designated by others and internalised is really powerful. The way the storyline is mirrored on a societal level as well as an internal level is so clever! Confronting the erasure of integral memories/experiences both from Renata’s conciousness and the wider world’s and how the impact has prevented both the society and Renata from ever being able to move forward and recover is just so beautifully done. I am in awe. It’s so refreshing to see a rewarding recovery arc in a book! Romance, action, self-discovery, found family, twists and turns....Illusionary has it all in spades and is a really strong conclusion to the duology.Start from Portal Room and go halfway to the Ramazith Door (Don’t cross it). Before the Seelie can be found behind an illusionary wall to the right of the Ramazith Door. Simply enter the room and collect the book from the shelves. The Red Knight’s Final Strategem An epic and spellbinding fantasy, Incendiary is a darkly rich tapestry of twisted magic, deadly consequences, and riveting stakes In this thrilling conclusion to the Hollow Crown duology, Our favourite Robári embarks on a dangerous voyage, teaming up with one of her greatest enemies to find the mythical knife of memory. They plan to bring justice to the kingdom and end the reign of tyranny, once and for all. Just as a painter creates the illusion of depth on a flat canvas, our brain creates the illusion of depth based on information arriving from our essentially two-dimensional retinas. Illusions show us that depth, color, brightness, and shape are not absolute terms but are subjective, relative experiences created actively by our brain's circuits. This is true not only of visual experiences but of any and all sensory perceptions, and even of how we ponder our emotions, thoughts, and memories. Whether we are experiencing the feeling of "redness," the appearance of "squareness," or emotions such as love and hate, these are the result of the activity of neurons in our brain. Yes, there is a real world out there, and you perceive events that occur around you, however incorrectly or incompletely. But you have never actually lived in the real world, in the sense that your experience never matches physical reality perfectly. Your brain instead gathers pieces of data from your sensory systems—some of which are quite imprecise or, frankly, wrong.
