The only complaint I have is in regards to the insoles: they aren’t great with sweat management. The main reason I wear sandals is that it’s just too hot to wear anything else, therefore, I deal with this sweat problem a lot. It surprised me because the same insoles deal with water quite well, but for some reason the sweat seems to be completely different. The Teva Hurricane XLT 2 sandals were plenty comfortable, but the insole didn’t handle sweat well. You can’t see that in this picture, but it was an issue. Final Word As you can see, they have those sturdy Velcro straps, as you’d expect from a Teva sandal, and then contoured podiatry points along the footbed with plenty of arch support. Materials The Teva Hurricane XLT 2 sandal didn’t hinder my movements or make me feel fatigued, allowing me to enjoy my summer adventures without any unnecessary burden. To be clear, the tactile comfort of the straps is great and this never caused any problems. However, the position of the tensioner on the forefoot could use some adjustment. This is the cause of the pressure point. I have an extremely narrow foot so it could be specific to my feet. With all footwear, I really need to crank down the tension system, whether it’s laces, straps, BOA, etc. Fit
Teva’s design is unique, and remains almost unchanged from the original hiking sandal. There are enough adjustments to really dial in fit. At only 1 lb. 4 oz., this great pair of sandals felt lightweight and airy, which was particularly appreciated during hot weather.The webbing and straps are durable and perform well in the water. The heel cushion is a nice touch for comfort. I appreciated the ability to fine-tune the heel strap to my preference, whether it was a snug fit for more challenging trips or a looser one for casual walks. However, the design might not be ideal if you have high arches, and you may need additional orthotic inserts. However, the Teva Hurricane XLT had a slightly sturdier construction overall.
