About this deal

What I noticed though is that the fit can be a bit narrow, especially in the toe box area. Furthermore, Teva doesn’t do half sizes, so if you have wide feet, you may need to size up a full size. How It Evolved? The Hurricane XLT 2 boasts a more substantial build with cushioned soles and secure straps, prioritizing comfort. I used my previous Hurricane XLTs in a similar fashion but found that traction when wet was greatly impaired and the sandal itself felt like walking on a wet washcloth. The XLT 2 seems to have gotten rid of this issue and I found it comfortable to keep them on the entire day, from the lake to the trail to camp. Digging Deeper Additionally, the open-toe construction provided additional ventilation, helping my feet breathe and preventing any feeling of stuffiness.

While the sandals can withstand splashes and light rain, it’s important to note that they are not fully waterproof. The only downside I could find in terms of comfort was that the initial break-in period for the Teva Hurricane XLT2 was slightly longer than expected. While they were comfortable overall, it took a few wears for the strap system to fully adjust to my foot shape. 6. Weight We have a wide range of Teva sandals available in our assortment. Teva Sandals Men Additionally, while the Teva Hurricane XLT2 offers ample support for moderate and light hikes if you are engaging in more intense or technical terrain, you might require shoes with higher levels of protection. 8. Fit and Sizing Teva also offers the Hurricane XLT 2 Cross Strap, which has the connector strap going across the foot, rather than to the side. This is a personal preference, and we found the cross strap provided a bit more support during upward movement. Teva also offers this model in many brand collaborations, like Snow Peak, but the sandal remains the same. Overall we like the standard Teva Hurricane XLT 2 model the best, or the Cross Strap if you need that support.

The only complaint I have is in regards to the insoles: they aren’t great with sweat management. The main reason I wear sandals is that it’s just too hot to wear anything else, therefore, I deal with this sweat problem a lot. It surprised me because the same insoles deal with water quite well, but for some reason the sweat seems to be completely different. The Teva Hurricane XLT 2 sandals were plenty comfortable, but the insole didn’t handle sweat well. You can’t see that in this picture, but it was an issue. Final Word As you can see, they have those sturdy Velcro straps, as you’d expect from a Teva sandal, and then contoured podiatry points along the footbed with plenty of arch support. Materials The Teva Hurricane XLT 2 sandal didn’t hinder my movements or make me feel fatigued, allowing me to enjoy my summer adventures without any unnecessary burden. The fit of the Hurricane XLT 2 is fairly standard, and will work for most people. The adjustments help to secure the right fit as well.

While the Hurricane XLT 2 is great for those seeking stability, the Xero Z-Trail EV suits minimalist enthusiasts who prioritize agility. The Teva products generally run true to size. The shoe sizing chart provided by the manufacturer was reliable, and the sandals fit me well based on my usual shoe size.

To be clear, the tactile comfort of the straps is great and this never caused any problems. However, the position of the tensioner on the forefoot could use some adjustment. This is the cause of the pressure point. I have an extremely narrow foot so it could be specific to my feet. With all footwear, I really need to crank down the tension system, whether it’s laces, straps, BOA, etc. Fit

Teva’s design is unique, and remains almost unchanged from the original hiking sandal. There are enough adjustments to really dial in fit. At only 1 lb. 4 oz., this great pair of sandals felt lightweight and airy, which was particularly appreciated during hot weather. The webbing and straps are durable and perform well in the water. The heel cushion is a nice touch for comfort. I appreciated the ability to fine-tune the heel strap to my preference, whether it was a snug fit for more challenging trips or a looser one for casual walks. However, the design might not be ideal if you have high arches, and you may need additional orthotic inserts. However, the Teva Hurricane XLT had a slightly sturdier construction overall. While the Teva Hurricane XLT 2 is still sturdy, some users might prefer the older version’s robustness for a more demanding trail. How Does it Compare with Other Products? Teva Terra Fi 5 Universal

The durable and grippy outsole comes with reliable traction on both dry and slippery surfaces, ensuring stability and preventing slips, and you can rely on the Hurricane XLT 2 hiking sandal to offer good ventilation for your toes. A fairly priced sandal for the activity level and durability you’ll get out of it. If you like the strap system you can’t go wrong. If you’re seeking sandals that can handle diverse terrains, offer waterproofing, and reduce heel strain, the Teva Hurricane XLT2 is an excellent choice. These sandals are particularly suited for day hiking, water activities like kayaking, and adventures in wet environments. With their reliable waterproofing capabilities, they keep your feet dry and comfortable even when traversing streams, puddles, or a wet trail. On the other hand, the Xero Z-Trail EV focuses on minimalism, featuring a lighter construction and a thin, flexible sole that offers a barefoot-like feel.I also found the soles of the Hurricane XLT 2 to be comfortable and capable. While I wouldn’t use this sandal for trekking or heavy duty hiking, I found it was supportive when shouldering a light load and moving through easy-to-moderate terrain. The insole was comfortable enough and the outsole gripped the ground reassuringly. I had a few moments of hesitation around camp while downclimbing some boulders to find the perfect spot for lunch, but traction was excellent and the three-point strap system kept me secure. Comfort 4 Stars The Teva Hurricane XLT 2 sandal brings several improvements while maintaining some of the qualities that made its predecessor popular.
