About this deal

Metal, usually titanium, is often used in cheaper hot tools and causes more damage to hair due to the high temperatures and uneven heating. Ceramic hair dryers consist of a ceramic material to create an infrared heating element that more evenly distributes heat and is gentler on strands, helping to prevent damage to your hair. But it dries your strands slower, making it ideal for thin or damaged hair. Discover the latest innovation from Hot Tools, the iconic award-winning US brand with 30 years in supporting stylists. There are a few specs to consider when purchasing a hair dryer. The heating element used to blow hot air out of the barrel may be the most important, and the main ways hair dryers create heat are metal, ceramic, and tourmaline, and you’ll sometimes see a combination of these elements in different blow dryers. The Hot Tools Pro Signature Detachable Blow-Dry & Volumiser is a two-in-one styling tool with a unique oval design that helps you achieve a gorgeous blow-dry in just one-step. It features direct ion technology that helps give you healthy-looking hair and thermaglide ceramic coating that helps give an even heat distribution and refresh. The Hot Tools Pro Signature Salon Ionic AC motor hair dryer felt balanced in the hand when blow-drying hair, and was comfortable to hold, in both the left and right hands (we switched hands, depending upon the side of the head being styled). However, we accidentally hit the cool-shot button on several occasions while adjusting our grip of the unit to dry the hair’s roots.

Designed for turbo drying with maximum airflow, this new Ionic Hot Tools Pro Signature Dryer features a powerful, professional, long-life AC Motor that lasts up to 3x longer* getting results up to 40% faster*. Includes mini-screwdriver and dual plug adaptor. Using the Pro Signature Detachable Blow-Dry & Volumiser Those are just some of the main attachments you’ll probably want in a hair dryer, but there are plenty more to look out for, including bore bristle brushes to help with shine and even wands that help curl your hair. Brush hair dryers, like the Revlon Pro Collection One Step Dryer & Volumiser, have also become increasingly popular, but be careful as they are prone to damaging your hair and also limit your styling options.

You might be asking, who are Hot Tools? Because I thought the exact same thing. You may not have heard of them before because Hot Tools is an award-winning brand with more than 30 years of salon experience, leading the way in innovative design and heat styling tools in the USA. Last year, they launched a range of salon-quality styling tools for consumers across the UK and Europe so they’ve finally come across to us! About the Pro Signature Detachable Blow-Dry & Volumiser The Hot Tools Pro Signature Salon Ionic AC motor hair dryer certainly isn’t sluggish when it comes to drying times on its hottest setting. It took 4 minutes and 11 seconds to take below-shoulder-length fine hair from damp to completely dry. Reducing the temperature to a slightly lower setting added only a further 34 seconds to the drying time. Lightweight compared to other hair straighteners we’ve tested, we found the Hot Tools styler glided through hair relatively smoothly, both while straightening and curling. In addition, its rubberized finish certainly made twisting the straighteners to curl hair more manageable.

The hair dryer offers 2000W of power in the UK, alongside three temperature settings and two speed levels. However, the US model only offers 1875W of power. Both versions include a cool-shot button that delivers a blast of cold air to set your style. Brushless motors are also a newer technology found in hair dryers that use magnets and electronics to drive the motor rather than a carbon bush. Though brushless motor hair dryers are more expensive, they are longer-lasting, lighter-weight, more efficient, and quieter. That may make them worth the splurge over traditional AC and DC motors. The high performance 6-custom heat/speed settings and Direct Ionic technology help achieve salon quality drying whilst fighting fizz and static for shinier, healthier-looking hair. The Hot Tools Pro Signature Salon Ionic AC motor hair dryer looks just as you’d expect such an appliance to look, with a wide barrel that tapers into a smaller opening at the front, and a handle. Measuring 27 x 22 x 6.3cm / 10.6 x 8.7 x 2.5 inches, and weighing in at 565g / 1.3lbs, it certainly isn’t the bulkiest or heaviest hair dryer we’ve seen. That said, we did experience some arm ache when using the hair dryer on its lowest temperature level, due to the length of time it took to dry hair. The temperature of the Hot Tools Pro Signature Digital Straightener is displayed on the LCD screen. However, we did feel that the solid green color it illuminated to when the desired temperature had been reached gave the straighteners a less than premium feel. This was true of the flashing blue display when the styler has been switched off but not removed from the electrical outlet, too. We were also disappointed to find that there was no audible notification to alert you to the fact that the straightener has reached temperature.
