About the Pro Signature Detachable Blow-Dry & Volumiser The Hot Tools Pro Signature Salon Ionic AC motor hair dryer certainly isn’t sluggish when it comes to drying times on its hottest setting. It took 4 minutes and 11 seconds to take below-shoulder-length fine hair from damp to completely dry. Reducing the temperature to a slightly lower setting added only a further 34 seconds to the drying time. Lightweight compared to other hair straighteners we’ve tested, we found the Hot Tools styler glided through hair relatively smoothly, both while straightening and curling. In addition, its rubberized finish certainly made twisting the straighteners to curl hair more manageable.
The hair dryer offers 2000W of power in the UK, alongside three temperature settings and two speed levels. However, the US model only offers 1875W of power. That said, we did experience some arm ache when using the hair dryer on its lowest temperature level, due to the length of time it took to dry hair.The temperature of the Hot Tools Pro Signature Digital Straightener is displayed on the LCD screen. However, we did feel that the solid green color it illuminated to when the desired temperature had been reached gave the straighteners a less than premium feel. This was true of the flashing blue display when the styler has been switched off but not removed from the electrical outlet, too. We were also disappointed to find that there was no audible notification to alert you to the fact that the straightener has reached temperature.
