About this deal

Made from pure sucrose crystals, the coarse-grained texture and bright colours of sanding sugar is widely used in cake decorating. Our Roberts Sanding Sugar is an excellent choice for adding a crunchy texture and sweetness to your baking with a colourful shimmer and sparkle. It also won't melt or dissolve when baked or sprinkled over royal icing. Edible glitter Double Batch: Instead of doubling the recipe, make two batches. I find it’s easy to overmix when working with a double batch in 1 bowl. Overmixing may lead to too-dense donuts. Step 1: Fit a piping bag with a large round tip or coupler. Fill it with frosting. Pipe a flat swirl on top of a cupcake. You don’t want a ton of frosting, just one fairly even swirl across the top should do it. As for chocolate, as long as you have something that will melt and set again it's really up to you what you go with. If you prefer dark chocolate, white chocolate or a speciality brand with added flavours then go ahead and use that. Sequins: when needing to add a splash of colour to your cake, our Over The Top Bling Sequins will add a touch of bling with a variety of vibrant colours.

Step 2: Place a mini spatula in a mug of hot water for 15-20 seconds, to heat up the metal. Wipe off the spatula to remove any water, then start moving it across the top of the cupcake with gentle pressure. The heat from the spatula will help smooth out the frosting. The swirl marks will disappear and you will be left with a flat, round surface. For example, you can wait for the first batch to set and then take them out of the moulds. When the mould is free and cleaned, you can then make the same amount using the same amount of ingredients again. To avoid seizing in the future, always make sure that the bowl you're using is completely dry. Equally, you should make sure that the utensils you're using are also dry. It's best to avoid using wooden utensils as these can retain moisture after being washed. Metal isn’t ideal either, as it can conduct heat, so I prefer using silicone utensils.
