You could measure the White Headphone’s soundstage in miles and you’d still come up short. There’s space and depth aplenty here, with real definition to the sound that will put you in the midst of your favorite recordings. Every insturment and vocalist has their own finite point of origin, with minimal overlap or confusion. All in all, this is a sound as clean as it is articulate. These Grados once again prove that evolution is arguably a more reliable way of making things better than a headline-grabbing design revolution. The best just got that bit better. Personally, I have no issue with Grado earcups, but they do constitute a love-or-hate feature on this headphone. That being said, even if you have larger tea-saucer ears like me, you’ll still get a comfortable fit with the Grado cushions. Before plunging into the world of Grado headphones, it’s essential to identify your specific needs. Define the purpose of your headphones. Are they for casual listening, professional use, or a high-fidelity audio experience? Understanding your usage context will guide your selection process.

We find the SR80 lightweight enough to get away with the SR80e’s non-padded headband, but that’s not to say the SR80x’s padding isn’t welcome; it certainly helps maintain a less burdensome listening experience, especially during those multi-hour sessions. And while the headband slider is pretty basic, it’s fit for purpose to allow for a reasonable degree of head adjustment. Absolutely. Grado headphones are recognized for their superior sound quality, unique design, and exceptional craftsmanship. While they might come with a higher price tag compared to some other brands, the investment in Grado headphones is an investment in high-quality audio. Do Grado Headphones Have Wireless Options?Drivers feature low-mass polymer diaphragms, neodymium magnets, and UHPLC (ultra high-purity, long crystal, oxygen-free copper) voice-coil wires. Where you pay is practicality. The Grado SR60e are useless for the outdoors unless you live in the middle of nowhere thanks to severe sound leakage. Verdict Please infuse Hemp into every single wood anything you do in the future. This headphone sounds fantastic. It sounds like the older PS500 original but improved.

While the less ear-coddling sound of the Grado SR60e isn’t for everyone, it is categorically superior from a technical perspective. It’s serious sound, at a fairly trivial price.Standard Grado box, made of cardboard and with a simple foam insert. Don’t need anything else. Don’t want anything else at this price point. I’ve nothing to write home for on the container, it is the thing inside the container that is important.

Just drop the high frequencies a little and you’ll be fine. I don’t feel the need for that, but if you do, it probably feels good to know the Hemp will let you tailor it somewhat to your needs. The headphone responds marvelously to DSP usage, so play with it and enjoy the hell out of it. Engaging Factor The Grado SR60e’s construction is pretty basic too. Using a static headband and no folding mechanism, there’s very little to go wrong, but they don’t feel like they could take too much rough treatment. What keeps them together are two rods of steel that look a bit like the stuff used to make coat hangers. The metal that makes up the skeleton of the headband is extremely skinny too, only taking up a tiny part of the padding that rests on your head. In raw purity, the headphone is not going to please the accurate and neutral, or clinical enthusiasts. Again, that is because the headphone is on the warm and musical side of the spectrum. High on quality, bass, midrange and treble are the main highlights while talking about the SR60e Prestige series from Grado. The audiophile sound are a good example of great durability and good value for money. On the look side, they may look like the old school ones, but they sure look stylish too. These do not have a fancy remote control inside, and also have a missing removable cable. But the sound quality puts them at par. In short, they would perfectly fall under the category of the best mid-priced Grado headphones, traditional in design and amazing sound quality with several latest upgrades missing (if they don’t really make a huge difference), they should be the ones that you would make love.

Bottom Line

Comfort is another area where these headphones divide opinions. At 340g, they’re not heavy, and there’s enough in the way of adjustment to cope with a wide variety of heads. But not everyone will get along with the new foam earpads. The Grado White was a bold and neutral beast. The last generation PS500 was one of my favorite headphones of all time. I cannot talk about the Hemp materials itself very much, this is the first time I’ve ever seen anyone infuse it with Maple, Grado claims it has amazing dampening effects and that it results in a full-bodied sound. But, Grado…can I tell you something? Size-wise, the Grado SR60e appear quite similar to headphones like Beats Solo 2. They’re on-ear, so not huge. However, these are not portable in the traditional sense. If you’re in the market for a limited edition Grado with gorgeous handmade craftsmanship and a fun and exciting sound signature, you can’t go wrong with the White Headphone. It’s great for pretty much anything you could listen to, but definitely excels where massive amounts of detail and crystal-clear imaging are a must. How Do Grado Headphones Compare to Other Brands?

The 8-strand cables are lovely, but if we could get a thinner, more portable friendly cable, that would be great too. I am a bit enamored by how Grado setup the GW100. A single-sided cable would be awesome on this Hemp.That is not to say it requires a lot of power to sound great, it doesn’t. The Plenue M, or really any solid portable music player, sounds very good with this player. Usually, I find that low end or treble is improved with a lot more power than what a portable source can offer. I didn’t find that to be the case here with the Hemp. With the right EQ set (preference for me, because I like bassy sound) the Hemp can really make your toes tap and head bob for quite some time. Lovely. So nice to have a solid middle-tier headphone that is just an absolute pleasure to use.
