Most Android devices have file manager tool which maybe can be used to access the files on Network Devices using SMB. Or you can search file explorer app which support SMB on Google Play. Establish internet access with connected devices by sharing a smartphone’s mobile data to the router via cable. This method is most useful when users wants to use the phone's data to access the internet.
The user interface is comprehensive but simple to use allowing lots of configuration and setting up VPNs both OpenVPN and WireGuard are easy and I’m using SurfShark. Although this router is small, sleek, and whisper quiet, I don’t make purchasing decision based on how the router looks. As long as all it does is sit in the house where it is placed and does its job well, I don’t even have to look at it. And this GL.iNet router does its job well. Hasn’t been any problem for over four months that I’ve had this. Not only that, but as I learned long after I started trying to figure this out, the GL.iNet WiFi6 routers aren’t even built upon official upstream OpenWRT! OpenVPN TCP allows more stable connections than the UDP version but is a bit slower. Choose this version, if you have recurrent connection issues such as sudden disconnections.
Setup and Operation
If you are using TorGuard, you need to login the control panel and find Config Generator from the Tools menu. If this option is enabled, the resources inside the device LAN will be allowed to be accessed via the Tailscale virtual network. GL.iNet routers include a wide range of add-on features that simplifies device management, improves user's internet experience, automates firmware update, and more. Plug-ins ¶ Country : Since native protocol connections may only be used with exactly one server you now have to choose the country you want to surf from; the server to be used in this country will be chosen by CyberGhost automatically.
Next, you will see the list of networks that the GL-iNet Slate AX WiFi 6 gigabit wireless travel router can find. Select the appropriate network (note: network names have been changed to protect my neighborhood). If you don’t see the network you want (or if the network does not broadcast its SSID), then select Join Other Network to manually enter the SSID. The Mango is pretty slow. It can only encrypt traffic over my Tailscale link at about 4 megabits per second. That’s way slower than Wireguard in the kernel on this machine, and probably only just barely enough for video streaming. I am guessing Netflix would bump you down to standard definition via a Tailscale exit node on the Mango.I should also note that I only managed to get the Mango to route traffic through my exit node if the Mango is using Ethernet for its WAN connection. If I set up the Mango to use WiFi as its WAN, it won’t route traffic via the exit node. Well, it turns out that FLINT (the 4 antenna won’t hurt) can be used for all of this at the same time and without getting into the harsh techicalities that might occur with, say, a MicroTik router like my R8201. Manually Add Configuration, it is for if you want to paste the WireGuard configuration or fill in each item. The default share name appears to be GL-Samba so a connection string might be \\192.168.8.1\GL-Samba if your USB or microSD is properly recognized. The Slate AX can handle a much larger set of devices than previous GL-iNet travel routers, making this a great extension to a home network in addition to being a capable travel router. In my testing, I had quite a few devices connected: 2 Android phones, 2 Android tablets, 2 smartwatches, a smart TV, a wireless inkjet printer, and 3 Google assistant devices. All of these connected seamlessly and with all devices doing their various things, no appreciable loss of speed on any device.
