About this deal

Mirabel puts decorative candleholders outside of the doors of her sisters and grandmother. She stares sadly at the pictures on the wall of the other people in her family who got a gift at the age of five. When Mirabel hears shouting, she accidentally stumbles into one of the candles and sets one of the decorations on fire, struggling to put it out. Alma then walks up to Mirabel and tells her that maybe she should leave the decorations to someone else. Mirabel tells her that she was making the decorations as a surprise. Mirabel initially stays in the shadows and watches Antonio at the end of the aisle. Antonio turns to her and holds out his hand, and Mirabel says that she can't. Antonio insists that he needs her support, and Mirabel reluctantly takes Antonio's hand and guides him down the aisle and up the stairs to his door. As she does this, Mirabel remembers how her ceremony was unsuccessful ten years earlier and how sad she was when her door vanished. Just then, Mirabel notices rats taking pieces of the vision. Mirabel follows the rats to a painting, and when she pulls the painting away she notices a large hole in the wall and climbs through it. She spots a hooded figure, her uncle Bruno, holding the pieces before he suddenly disappears. Mirabel chases after Bruno, yelling for him to stop. He initially outruns her after jump over a large hole in the floor. Mirabel also jumps over the hole in the floor trying to catch up with him, but the floor breaks underneath her. Mirabel cries out for help as she struggles to pull herself up, and Bruno catches her just before she falls. When the floor crumbles beneath Bruno, she grabs onto him before he falls, but accidentally lets go when she’s startled by a rat on his shoulder. However, Bruno pops up unharmed and realizes the hole isn’t as deep as they initially thought. Luisa Madrigal: Luisa is Isabela's first younger sister. While she doesn't get along with Mirabel for most of the film and is clearly distant from her, Isabela doesn't share the same strained relationship with Luisa and gets along with her from the start. In the novelization of the film, it is revealed that Isabela lovingly made Luisa a flower crown for her to wear when she had her fifth birthday and had her gift ceremony, showing that Isabela has had a soft spot for her younger sister from a very young age. Throughout the film, Isabela and Luisa don't really interact much, however it is clear that Isabela thinks highly of Luisa and cares about her. Isabela was shown to be worried about Luisa when she cried during the proposal dinner, and was upset with Mirabel on Luisa's behalf when the latter's superhuman strength was fading. Isabela becomes incredibly affectionate with her younger sister at the end of the film. When they rebuild the Casa Madrigal in the song " All of You", Isabela praises Luisa's strength and, along with Mirabel, gives Luisa a comforting hug when she reveals that she cries sometimes. In the family photo at the end of the film, Isabela stands next to Luisa for the photo. On the night of Isabela‘s fifth birthday, she received the gift of chlorokinesis and she moved out of the nursery into her new room.

After realizing who she really is, she stains her dress with various colors: dark indigo, yellow, green, red, and blue. Her hair is also stained, and the pink flower hairpiece on the left side of her head is gone. Nearing the end of the movie, she remodels her dress again: into a brighter indigo with red-to-orange splotches and a green one at the bottom of dress, as well as a vine-like accessory on her right hand. She also adds multicolored flowers to the design and dyes a streak of her hair in a deep turquoise color. She also now wears an orange anthurium flower in place of where her pink flower hairpiece used to be. When Isabela tries to drag Mirabel out with her vines, Mirabel insists that she's sorry, and, struggling against the vines, says that she wasn't trying to ruin Isabela's life. She insists that there are much bigger problems, and calls Isabela a "selfish, entitled princess." Isabela accuses Mirabel of only ever messing up her life. Mirabel tells Isabela that nothing is ruined and she can still get married to Mariano. Isabela confesses to Mirabel that she never wanted to marry Mariano in the first place and she was only doing it for the family. In Isabela's anger, she accidentally creates a cactus.Antonio Madrigal: Antonio is Mirabel's maternal youngest cousin. Mirabel is very close to Antonio to the point of treating him as if he were her younger brother, this being shown when she comforts Antonio when he was nervous about his gift ceremony. During his gift ceremony, Mirabel walks Antonio to his door when Antonio insisted that he needed her for extra confidence. Mirabel crawls under the bed and tells a clearly anxious Antonio that he doesn't have anything to worry about. She assures Antonio that he will get his gift and he will open his door to his new room and it'll be a great experience. Antonio asks Mirabel what happens if it doesn't work, and Mirabel tells him that in that "impossible scenario", Antonio would stay in the nursery with her, and she can have him all to herself, which makes Antonio laugh. Antonio tells Mirabel that he wishes that she could've had a door. Mirabel tells Antonio that he doesn't have to worry about her, because she has an amazing house, an amazing family, and an amazing cousin, and she'll be even happier once Antonio gets his gift. At the beginning of the film, Isabela appears to be kind and gentle person, who is perfect in every way, such as creating beautiful flowers and plants. However, this is mainly a facade, as it is later revealed she is only acting that way to meet Abuela's expectations. When Isabela decides to embrace her imperfections, she is shown to be very high-spirited and enjoys making a wide variety of plants, even those that are "imperfect". Isabela was born twenty one years before the events of the movie on August 7 th [2] and is the oldest daughter of Julieta and Agustin Madrigal. In the early years of her life, Isabela lived in the nursery of the Casita with her cousin Dolores who is a few weeks younger than her, and eventually her younger sister Luisa who is two years younger than her. Dolores is the daughter of Pepa and Félix, and although she may be quiet, she has inside information on everyone in the family. [2]

The rest of the people in the Encanto come to the aid of the Madrigals as they help rebuild the Casita. At some point while rebuilding the Casita, Mirabel consoles a visibly upset Mariano and she introduces him to Dolores. When Dolores takes over the conversation, she expresses her feelings towards Mariano which he accepts, much to Dolores's happiness, although Dolores tells him to slow down when he suggests that they should get married. When events at the dinner start spiraling out of control, Dolores, in a panic, blurts out that Mirabel found Bruno's vision, and she was in it and she was going to destroy the magic and they were "all doomed".Isabela swings herself and Mirabel from a vine into the air before they land in a flower bed in the middle of the courtyard in the Casita, leaving the two sisters giggling.

When Antonio opens his gift and sees it's a handmade stuffed jaguar, Mirabel tells him that once he moves into his cool new room, he'll at least have something to snuggle with. Mirabel is a young girl who may be imperfect and "weird," but is also empathetic and emotional. [2] Bruno Madrigal: Bruno is Mirabel's maternal uncle as the younger triplet brother of Mirabel's mother Julieta. Due to Bruno keeping to himself, Mirabel has little to no memory of Bruno when she was a young child. In the film, when they see each other for the first time in ten years, their meeting was somewhat awkward but friendly. The two started to bond during the movie when Mirabel convinces Bruno to have another vision so she can see how she's supposed to save the magic. Mirabel grew to care for Bruno, this being shown when she reassures him that she doesn't believe that he makes bad things happen, as well as pausing from saving the candle to make sure that Bruno made it out of the collapsing house safely. Mirabel also stood up for him when Alma accused Bruno of not caring about their family. Mariano Guzmán: In " We Don't Talk About Bruno", Dolores sings about having a crush on Mariano, but then Bruno prophesying that he would become the fiancé of Isabela, her cousin. In " All of You", Dolores confesses to Mariano that she loves him, and the two start a relationship, with the latter being smitten immediately and saying they should get married, with Dolores telling Mariano to 'slow down'.When Mirabel brings the party supplies into the kitchen, Julieta asks her if she's okay telling her she doesn't need to overdo it. Mirabel asserts that she's fine but she just wants to do her part like everyone else in the family. Agustín tries to console Mirabel about not having a gift, saying that he knows how it feels like to be a part of an exceptional family and feel "un-ceptional". Julieta offers Mirabel a chance to talk, and Mirabel says she needs to put out the decorations because the house won't decorate itself. When she realizes the house's negative reaction, she apologizes saying that the house could decorate itself and that it looks great. As she walks away, her parents tell her she has nothing to prove, to which she responds with a thumbs up. Mirabel's hands sweat when she is nervous, as shown when she wipes her hand on her dress during the gift ceremony and Bruno's remark when he is trying to save her. Secondly, the name "Mirabel" was chosen since mira is a conjugation of the Spanish verb mirar, meaning "to look". [11] https://thedisinsider.com/2020/12/09/exclusive-new-details-for-walt-disney-animation-studios-encanto/ On the evening of the proposal, Isabela sits in between Mariano and Mirabel, and often glares at Mirabel when she speaks. Isabela becomes visibly confused when Mirabel and Agustín try to hurry Mariano along and get him to propose faster. She gets irritated when Mirabel interrupts Mariano's proposal, but as he's proposing Isabela has a forced smile on her face.
