As well as the remastered album, the box set contains two further LPs of bonus material, some of it previously unreleased on vinyl. This includes recordings from the spring 1971 sessions for their unrealized second album. In 2013, the album was released on Blu-ray High Fidelity Pure Audio disc. This release contains three different 24-bit/96kHz encodings of the stereo mix, in PCM, DTS-HD Master Audio and Dolby TrueHD formats, each with a slightly different EQ, but did not include either 5.1 mix from the 2004 or 2011 releases. Some people take issue with the inclusion of Little Wing on here, stating that the cover doesn’t do the original Hendrix song a shred of justice. Well, I beg to differ. If you are going to cover a song, make it your own. There is no question that Clapton and the boys took the essence of this song and jammed it into a blues format they felt worked for them. Sure, the iconic riff is not there, but the “flow” we talked about before, is all Clapton in his prime throughout the song. A fitting tribute to Hendrix who had just passed at the time of the recordings. The miscellany disc is predictably mixed (and indeed sometimes remixed), though the Johnny Cash Show appearances are marked by some zip. Due to the circumstances of its composition, "Layla" is defined by two movements, each marked by a riff.
