About this deal

Death Note is a masterclass in storytelling. The series follows Light Yagami, a high school student who stumbles upon a mysterious notebook called the "Death Note". This powerful artifact grants the owner the ability to kill anyone whose name is written in it. The story takes an interesting turn when Light decides to use the Death Note to create a better world by eliminating criminals. This attracts the attention of the enigmatic detective known as L, who makes it his mission to unmask and apprehend this new vigilante. Near is a child prodigy who takes over L’s investigation of the Kira case in the second half of the series. He has many similarities to L in his deduction and even his mannerisms and is also an orphan from Watari’s Whammy House.

If the cause of death is written within the next 40 seconds of writing the person’s name, it will happen. with an understanding that the series is intentionally "distressed" looking quite a bit of the time. Oddly, I found some of the more noticeable issues

Episode 14 - Director's Commentary features Jiro Okada, Associate Producer, and Shannon Chan-Kent (Misa).Death Note: Complete Series Blu-ray offers decent video and great audio in this excellent Blu-ray release As stated, the main reason for watching Death Note is Light. This is a character that you can look at in so many different ways, and can develop so many different opinions on. One the one hand, he is an egotistical, draconian serial killer with a messiah complex who is responsible for the deaths of millions over his lifetime, and is so ruthless he will stop at nothing to achieve his goals. On the other hand, you could argue that because he is trying to kill bad people the ends justify the means. Over the course of the story, Light’s activities cause crime worldwide to drop by 70% and he even manages to bring about world peace. Also, as far as gods go, his abilities seem to be more on show than God’s. Then again, you can argue that while Light is in a way well-intentioned, he is corrupted by his powers and misguided by his own ideas. Misa is one of Kira’s biggest supporters and becomes the second Kira. Light needs to put a stop to her, but decides it might be better to use her more than anything. Misa and Light then team up to try and misdirect L’s investigation. Misa is one of those REALLY annoying female characters. One of which you just want to strangle for being so annoying. I didn’t enjoy her personality at all, but I understand why they added her. If not, then the whole L vs Light battle could have gotten stale. She was the new dynamic they needed to keep that rivalry fresh. So she served her purpose, but jeez.. I wish she had a better personality. during the split screen moments—see, for example, the clear stair stepping on the ideographs and especially the lined paper in the lower right element in

may actually end up rooting more for Ryuk, a patently demonic character who could hardly be thought of as heroic, than for Light, the characterwith some decent nuance in grayscale. My colleague Ken Brown was pretty vocal about how shoddy he thought Viz treated an iconic property like Sailor Moon: Season 1, Part 1 on Blu-ray, and I'm With over 25 million copies sold, the hit manga series has been adapted into two live-action feature films directed by Shusuke Kaneko, widely known for the popular, Gamera, monster film series.

Death Note: The Last Name: Light and L's psychological duel enters a new phase; whoever is careless for even a split second will lose! To complicate things further, Rem, another shinigami brings the second notebook and Misa Amane, a Japanese pop star and Kira worshipper, comes into possession of it. Now becoming a Kira herself, she accepts an offer to have the Eyes of the Death. With the Eyes of the Death one can know the name of any person without being told. Misa and Light begin to work together to find the true name of L... Japanese Animation Director and Character Designer Interview #2 (1080p; 7:49) features Tetsuro Araki and Masaro Kitao.
