About this deal

WITH nights getting increasingly darker and colder, electric blankets are a popular way to stay warm at night and the best ones may also save you money on your heating bill. ADVANCED SAFETY FEATURES: With any heating device, safety is of paramount importance. That is why all Cosi Home heated throws and electric blankets feature an advanced overheat protection system and are fully CE compliant with UK & European regulations. Today’s electric blankets pose a very minimal safety risk, with many including features like timers, auto-shut-off and intelligent sensors that stop them from overheating. For the comfortable, perfect heat and a well-thought-out design, this one gets five stars from us. The only downside is the high price.

A good fabric for the price, and made from a sort of dense, felt-like fleece, making it a little warmer than cotton or regular polyester blankets, and it fastens to the mattress with two large elastic straps at the top and bottom. EXTRA LARGE & WARM: Large enough for 2 adults, this 160x130cm heated throw blanket allows you and another person (or alone) to wrap yourselves up and stay warm and is even large enough to cover your feet. Integrated heating elements woven into the soft-touch fabric deliver consistent consistent and efficient heat, perfect for relaxing or soothing aching muscles and joints. LUXURY MICRO FLEECE: This Cosi Home Heated throw is made with a warm and fluffy micro-fleece fabric, this double-sided and soft-touch electric heated throw is perfect for keeping you cosy on the sofa, settee or in bed and on both freezing cold winter nights and warmer summer days. Running cost as low as 3p per hour (October 2023). We found it a little fiddly to fit as it fastens with an elasticated strap that runs under the entire mattress from one side of the bed to the other. However, it stayed firmly in place once it was there for on-demand warmth. Our only complaint is that this electric blanket doesn’t have an auto shut-off setting so it’s recommended that it’s used on the lowest heat setting if it will be on all night. If you’d rather have one that turned itself off after a set period of time, try the Monogram by Beurer Komfort Heated Mattress Cover instead. How to choose an electric blanket Getting into a cold bed will be a thing of the past with the Cozytek Heated Electric Under Blanket, this Electric Blanket comes with 3 comfort settings ensuring you have a warm bed waiting for you just to your liking. *Low Running costs 3p per Hour based on current UK Energy Tariff*An electric blanket plugs into the mains and warms up via heating elements within the fabric itself. Most electric blankets are actually “toppers” or under blankets, which mean you secure them on top of your mattress and lie on them. They fix onto the mattress with corner straps or elasticated skirting. The heat is managed by a remote control that’s attached to the blanket. This can usually be detached so you can put the blanket in the washing machine. Also available are electric throws to wrap around yourself on the sofa. Are electric blankets safe to use? How you choose an electric blanket is dependent on three key considerations – your budget, preferred use, and your interior design tastes. Washing machine-proof electric heating blanket. Electric blanket can be washed by hand or machine if you unplug it and remove the detachable control unit before cleaning. Please wash it with water under 30 °C according to the instructions in the user manual. It is recommended to air dry the blanket and wait until it is completely dry before next use. There’s dual control for each side of the bed on sizes double and up, and you can set different temperatures for your body and feet areas, with the heat settings from 1-9. We didn’t notice an auto shut-off function but you can set it on a timer, between 1-9 hours. We used each blanket as specified, as an under-blanket on the best mattress or as a throw over our best duvet or to snuggle with on the sofa - and judged whether we noticed a real improvement using it. For each blanket, we looked at the following factors:

Robert says you can keep costs down even more by looking for eco settings to make sure you use the minimum amount of electricity possible. “For example, users can set an automatic switch-off timer for after two, six, nine or 12 hours to avoid unnecessary energy usage. Our heated products all have adjustable temperature settings with simple controls to suit any preference - turn the heat up and down as needed to stay comfortable.” There are only three temperature settings, but level two was comfortable on milder nights, while level three was nice and toasty, and it heated up well in half an hour. We would have liked timer and auto shut-off functions, although it does come with ‘overheat protection’.SLIM & EASY-TO-USE REMOTE: Each heated blanket throw comes with an upgraded, easy-to-use remote. The slim and compact design features large soft-touch buttons and a modern digital screen, ensuring effortless operation for every family member. Not technically an electric blanket, but we couldn’t resist including this luxurious heated pad, designed to be draped over a chair, which has seriously improved our working-from-home experience during this cold weather (once we could pry it out from underneath our feline tester, that is…). Warmth: Did it make a real difference to how we felt when we first got into bed or sat on the sofa in a chilly room? Was the heat distributed evenly? It’s simple but effective, heating up in about 30 minutes and staying warm until we’d dropped off to sleep, and we liked the raised marking on the controls (useful for when fumbling in the dark to switch it off).
