About this deal

In a world of bloody Boarding Actions, it’s easy to forget the colossal battles that define the 41st Millennium are still taking place. Balefleets are the cohorts raised by Abaddon and Vashtorr, tasked with collecting the artefacts needed to complete their meticulous plan. Here are all the updated Warhammer 40k Boarding Patrol box sets value and pricing in our start collecting 40k savings breakdown with the latest price increases.

It’s just a little interesting to see who will buy these because players will need to grab the Arks of Omen book as well to use them in that game. Plus, if you already play Space Marines, these are probably units you already have.

Best Warhammer 40k Arks of Omen Boarding Patrols Value & Pricing: Updated

Well, the value is pretty decent, but again, it comes down to whether you need the units inside. If you don’t need a single unit, the box value goes way down. However, if you need everything inside, you get the 10 Acolyte Hybrids for close to free! The Boarding Patrol: Chaos Space Marines set offers a formidable force of Heretic Astartes infantry, specially crafted to wreak havoc upon foes in the Warhammer 40,000 universe. Rules for playing Boarding Action games of Warhammer 40,000 can be found in the Arks of Omen: Abaddon supplement. Additional rules for Chaos Space Marines Boarding Patrols can be found in Arks of Omen: Angron.

In terms of optional extras for the Legionaries, you can give one a Balefire tome at an extra 20pts to make one a Psyker, giving you some extra things to do in the Psychic Phase. There’s also the option to gain a Mark of Chaos for each of the chaos gods for an extra 15pts – each one will give you a different bonus to your dice rolls or buff a stat, but with the points limitation of Boarding Actions, you will have to consider carefully if it’s worth the cost. Bring the light of the Emperor to the void with Boarding Patrol: Adepta Sororitas, scouring the Arks of Omen with bolt, flame, and melta. A devout Canoness leads five Celestian Sacresants, 10 Sisters Repentia, and 10 Battle Sisters into the breach, making this a durable fighting force with plenty of power armour and some chainsword punch. Abaddon is truly a nightmare on the board – with the Terminator keyword, he can go into reserve and deep strike wherever on the board in the next turn, so you have the option to place him next to a strategic point at a later point in the game. If there is an unclaimed objective too far for the opposing player to reach, Abaddon can be there in a hot minute. To maximise him properly, you may have to forego deep striking and keep him with the lads Legionaries to buff them up with hit re-rolls and wound re-rolls, buffs to charge rolls and a myriad of other abilities that justify his expense. He’s also been given the Agents of Chaos keyword, meaning he can be dropped into a Death Guard, Thousands Sons or World Eaters army (though that may come at an expense of some abilities in those respective armies, be warned). And to top it off, he cannot lose more than 3 wounds in a given turn, and his statline is eye-watering. Games Workshop have really despoiled us with this one. GW just revealed three new Arks of Omen box sets made specifically for playing boarding action games, but could also be used for regular 40k. We’ll start with the two Arks of Omen boxes made for Boarding Actions (called a Boarding Patrol), then get into the value and savings for the bigger Baleforce battleforce. Arks of Omen 40k Boarding Patrol Box Sets: Savings & Value BreakdownBoarding Patrol: Tyranids provides a balanced force of hungry Tyranids infantry, perfectly suited to ripping apart foes or firing grotesque bio-weapons in games of Warhammer 40,000 – especially in the dense and deadly Boarding Action missions detailed in the Arks of Omen series – and will save you money compared to buying the kits individually. The Tyranids aren’t terribly bothered by the exact state of galactic geopolitics at present – they just like a ready supply of tasty biomass, and a space hulk to ride around in. Their Boarding Patrol contains six adaptable Tyranid Warriors to split into squads of three, eight fast-moving Genestealers , and a fearsome Broodlord to direct them all. This combination of elite Legionaries and expendable cultists makes for a formidable force, perfect for beginners who want to dive into the world of Warhammer 40,000 and experience the thrill of battle. Don’t miss your chance to join the ranks of Chaos and unleash chaos upon the galaxy. What’s in the Boarding Patrol: Chaos Space Marines box? Two squads of three highly customisable Tyranid Warriors provide an adaptable, formidable core to claim the Ark. Meanwhile, eight fast-moving Genestealers – fielded as a squad of five – act as an insidious vanguard to a towering Broodlord.

This is an interesting move by GW, as the boxes are made specifically for the new game format. We’ll have to see pricing on these, but if they price them right, it could be a decent way to start up a new force and get to playing some boarding action games all in one go. The Balefleet Battleforce is a contingent of corrupted warriors comprised of 10 Possessed, five Chaos Space Marine Terminators, and a Heldrake, all led by an infernal Daemon Prince. The Emperor’s finest are the prime bulwark against Abaddon’s nefarious schemes, and this Boarding Patrol is typical of their brutal efficiency in such matters. You’ll be able to face any foe with a highly customisable Primaris Captain in Gravis armour , five Heavy Intercessors , and 10 Assault Intercessors . As a great starting point, this box gets you a good selection of chaff and the big bad leader himself if you haven’t gotten him yet! Boarding Patrol: Tyranids This boxed set focuses on an elite strike force of Space Marines, including miniatures that are available here for the first time. Leading the charge is a Primaris Lieutenant, who can be customised with a choice of cosmetic parts and a variety of weapon options – his left hand grips a plasma pistol, heavy bolt pistol, or a bolt rifle with one of three configurations, while his right hand can wield a power fist or a power sword, or simply gesture to a tactical goal. The Lieutenant is one of the most versatile character kits to date, with a choice of cosmetic parts and plenty of wargear. He can tote a plasma pistol, heavy bolt pistol, or a bolt rifle with one of three configurations, all while swinging a power fist or a power sword… or just pointing very emphatically. If you’ve read our previous articles on the Boarding Patrol boxsets, then you will have noticed (if you scrolled down this far – and I thank you for it) that we have started to talk about the value these boxsets bring to the actual Boarding Actions game mode itself. Now, I will preface by saying I’ve (almost) run the gammet of 40K armies – whether that’s fielding factions or being fielded against – and so I rely on my experience to inform myself of how good certain models play on the tabletop. However, Chaos Daemons is one of those factions that I’ve never played or had play against me – so I can only give brief opinions on how valuable these units are on the tabletop.
