About this deal

There may be times when you need to turn off the alarm on a Bose radio. Perhaps you overslept and need to get to work on time, or maybe you just don’t want to be woken up by the alarm in the morning. Whatever the reason, turning off the alarm on a Bose radio is a relatively simple process. You can also choose the volume of the alarm. The alarm will start out quiet and gradually get louder, so it won’t startle you when you wake up. The Spectrum is attractively priced, but the process of setting the alarm is quite lengthy and inconvenient. It could certainly be improved, but it still offers good value for money.

Out of the products we’ve reviewed here, four have Bluetooth: The AZATOM Horizon, the John Lewis & Partners Aria, the Roberts Revival iStream 3 and the Majority Fulbourn II. The Bose Wave radio was first released in 1994. It is a tabletop radio that has a unique design and produces high-quality sound. independent alarms (set different alarms for weekdays and weekends, or different alarms for you and your partner)Additional features – come first. Arguably, the most important, since you’re looking for a radio that will wake you up from your peaceful slumber daily. Some models come with a dual alarm, with plenty of options, alarms and settings.

A DAB radio will give you a better choice of radio stations, but there are still issues with DAB reception in the UK. DAB radios are very affordable now, and at some point the UK will probably switch off the FM signal, so getting a radio with both FM and DAB is a good idea. PriceWhen you hit the snooze button you can choose to pause the alarm for 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 or 30 minutes, or switch it off altogether. Bluetooth: This will let you stream music or audio wirelessly from your phone or tablet through the radio’s speaker.

Wi-fi for music streaming: Radios with wi-fi - called internet radios - often support music streaming services such as Spotify (may require subscriptions)You can set the display brightness to ‘Dim’, which should be low enough to prevent it keeping you awake at night while still allowing you to see the time. It has great sound quality for something so small and cheap, and has the added bonus of being portable. This radio lets you set two separate alarms. You can choose to wake up to a regular alarm sound or an FM or DAB radio station. Each alarm has its own button, which makes it a bit simpler than on the AZATOM Horizon, where both alarms use the same button. There’s a large snooze button on the top of the radio, which should be easy to find in the dark or when you’ve just woken up.

The radio will play for a duration of your choosing (15, 30, 45, 60 or 90 minutes). Of course, you can switch off the radio manually before this time period ends.

How do I choose the best radio alarm clock?

This radio offers good value for money. However, the screen is quite small and could be difficult to read, plus it doesn’t dim completely.
