About this deal

I really enjoyed the writing in this story. The narration was a brilliant tone that created a chilling atmosphere. It's mood was perfect for the topics it dealt with. At times, the story could get confusing, but I learnt early that, that was the style of the flow and rhythm of the pace. I've been waiting for Trish to push that publish button for Lovely Bad Things, especially after reading the first three chapters. At this point everyone is aware anything this woman writes I'll read it in a heartbeat, no whatsoever questions asked. While this book was enjoyable in the beginning, it fell through in the later parts. The idea of having someone who works on extremely strange and gruesome cases of murder, needing to recruit a supposed murderer to help them solve the case, is so intriguing. I absolutely loved that idea, but it didn't give what I was expecting it to give. Too much inner monologue with flowy words and reciting of past philosophers when I wanted some action with solving a possible murder case of 32 people. The deeper thinking and bits of philosopher were interesting in the beginning, but then just dragged. Trisha Wolfe wrote this with such meticulous detail and it showed. I had so much fun while reading because everything about this book was so well thought out. The psychological aspect was phenomenal and I loved that about it. I love that I’ve found a new fav author!

It fell more along the lines of a psychological thriller, and it read like an episode of Criminal Minds rather than a New Adult novel. With that purpose in mind, it actually kept me quite interested, it held certain points of suspense that made me want to read on! However, this is supposed to be a romance and as much as I want to give this book any more stars... I really can't. Is a suspenseful thrilling first full length book in author 'Trisha Wolfe's' 'Hollow's Row' series. My patient is the Angel of Maine. He kills ruthlessly. Without mercy, though his moniker suggests otherwise. And there’s not a bone in my body that can find fault with his logic. All his victims were deserving of punishment. And I identify with him, because I’m glad they’re dead.” Judge Gellar circles her gavel threateningly. “On the grounds that interruptions annoy me. Let the witness finish her testimony.” It's the lovely bad things that steal into our thoughts in the middle of the night and tempt us across the line between good and evil."

Now i don't really have that same obsession-fascination-addiction or whatever you want to call it, when it come to real life serial killers and murders. The reality of a life taken is not something i can look away from and not care about. 𝐁𝐮𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐬, 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐚 𝐨𝐟 𝐚𝐧 𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐥 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐨𝐧𝐥𝐲 𝐞𝐱𝐢𝐬𝐭 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐤 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐬𝐞 𝐩𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐬... Well Satan have mercy on my soul, cause this book was the personification of every word above. I am doomed and obsessed. I could write more details about the case or characters but I honestly believe it would ruin the story and frankly, the blurb says it all. THIS BOOK WAS SUCH A RIDE. I can’t even begin to describe how much this book gripped me. The writing style was lyrical, the characters had depth, the mystery surrounding the serial k!ller cases was insane. Kallum is obsessed with Halen, but she’s also obsessed with him. Secondly, this book won’t be for everyone! It is HEAVILY based about philosophy and Greek mythology, it’s extremely thought provoking and some of the terminology is advanced so sometimes it was losing me a bit but it was so so interesting.

What is Suella Braverman up to? Framing migrants as an existential threat to western civilisation, assailing multiculturalism, while talking darkly about the numbers of children had by foreign-born mothers; this week the home secretary was to be found delivering a speech to a rightwing US thinktank that sank to a bleak new low. Braverman has form when it comes to introducing extreme rightwing views into the mainstream, but this speech was especially egregious. It was riddled with the same tropes found in the “great replacement” – a far-right conspiracy theory that suggests Europeans are being replaced by outsiders with the complicity of elites. See what I mean?! He’s an obsessed man with serial killer tendencies who believes himself capable of being judge, jury and executioner. If that’s not madness, I don’t know what is. The only silver-lining is that he only goes after other people who have committed crimes (pretty evil crimes – at least that’s what I tell myself to help me sleep at night). So if you have a clean record, you’re in the clear. Just don’t go killing people or he and his hypocritical ideology may come looking for you.

Incensed, the lawyer approaches the witness stand. “Did you, at all, factor Mrs. Reker’s affair into your evaluation? How such a painful betrayal from a wife of over twenty years could push an already unhinged man over the edge?”

No, I do not believe rehabilitation is achievable. Especially for the Bundys and Dahmers of the world."To start, the cover of this book is beautiful and instantly drew me in. I am a fan of dark romance and psychological thrillers, so I knew I had to read this.

This book had me hooked the moment I read the premise, because isn’t there something so diabolically erotic about a criminal psychologist falling in love with a convicted murderer? Just incredible! I highlighted so much my Kindle is nothing but a blue neon sign at this point. Brilliant read, absolutely brilliant.

Cullen worked as a nurse in many hospitals but kept switching jobs as he was fired for suspicious behaviour from many of them. He confessed to murdering 40 elderly patients in New Jersey from 1984 to 2003. He did this by poisoning his patients to death with unprescribed medication. He stated that he wanted to relieve the patients from their suffering much like an angel would." was a complex character and her secrets were insane. I was NOT expecting what was partially revealed at the end. I didn’t particularly like her entirely bc she was kinda passive most of the time until Kallum rattled her *𝗵𝗲𝗵𝗲* Lord, oh, Lord. I can’t remember the last time a book had my heart thrumming in giddy anticipation and my blood pulsing in timid excitement. It’s the lovely bad things that steal into our thoughts in the middle of the night and tempt us across the line between good and evil. Those torturously beautiful sins that provoke our deepest, most deviant desires. It feeds us in the dark, stoking a frail flame into an inferno we can no longer resist. She is my flame. And I am all but pleading for my muse to burn me alive.
