About this deal

In actual use, it could deliver pretty good detail and colors under different visual modes. The blur and ghosting issues were not as serious as we thought. Most of the time, it could provide a fast response without lags or perceivable latency. Why it made the cut: The Espresso Display has a stylus pen that can be used to draw, sketch, retouch photos, and edit videos on the portable monitor. Arzopa designed the A1 Gamut with an FHD (1920 x 1080) resolution, which results in sharp, clear images and text. You can easily adjust the brightness on the side of the monitor. We found it plenty bright, even when working in rooms with lots of windows and light. And the IPS display makes it easier to see at a range of angles, even if there are windows directly behind you.The 1200:1 contrast ratio is higher than many portable monitors, resulting in a rich, attractive display. While it won’t provide perfectly accurate colors, it works for editing photos in a pinch—just be prepared to make adjustments if you plan on printing the images later.

FHD IPS Screen: Designed with a 15.6-inch display, the screen features 1080P, FHD,IPS and anti-glare display. The 60Hz high resolution brings excellent richness in color ofpictures, videos, work and screen quality. In terms of viewing angles, I could see the monitor clearly enough to read as far to the side as around 60 degrees. The biggest issue with viewing the monitor from an angle is its potential to reflect light. Head on, the matte screen should be okay in most circumstances, but you could see significant glare if you're looking at it from the side. The cover doubling as a stand helps massively here. It's easy to adjust the monitor, so glare won't be an issue if you and some other people are using it as a screen for a games console or all watching an event on it. Similarly, it's easy to set it up so you're square on with it when using it as an auxiliary monitor, so you don't need to worry about its comfortable viewing range in that situation. Unlike portable monitors of the past, today’s examples are just as affordable as full-size desktop monitors, without compromising on features or build quality. Although you can find portable monitors that connect via USB-A or VGA, we recommend avoiding them because they have slow transfer speeds that lead to low resolution. UCB-C, Thunderbolt, HDMI, and mini-HDMI provide the fastest transfer speed between your device and portable monitor. ResolutionMost portable monitors link to laptops via a USB-C, HDMI, or Thunderbolt cable. Some portable monitors are powered by the laptop via the USB-C or Thunderbolt cable, while others require a separate power source like a wall outlet. FHD 1080P Monitor: A superb viewing experience is provided by the 14.0" Full HD 1920 x 1080 portable anti-glare IPS display with 60HZ resolution, outstanding image quality, and high screen brightness. Since working from home has become common for so many people, many new products have emerged that have tried to make your work-life easier at home. While portable monitors are not exactly one of the latest innovative products, their portability and ease of use can solve a lot of the users’ pain points. You don’t really have to settle for a heavy monitor in your small room. A portable monitor can be a better option in a lot of scenarios. The monitor can be used for document markups as well as whiteboarding. The 15.6-inch version is the largest of the espresso Display models (the other two are 13-inch and 13-inch touch versions), but it’s incredibly slim: 0.2 inches thin and weighing only 2 pounds.

It has a 15.6-inch OLED panel with a resolution of 1920×1080 and a 60Hz refresh rate. Its design, reminiscent of the Apple iPad Pro, elegantly combines an aluminum rear panel with edge-to-edge glass. Why it made the cut: The ASUS ROG Strix has a high refresh rate and lots of great features, making it the best choice for most people. The monitor’s color temperature skews cool, however, with a measured color temperature of 7700K. This is responsible for a majority of the color error in this monitor’s overall color performance, resulting in a somewhat sterile look. How much this will bother you is a matter of personal preference. On the plus side, the monitor’s gamma curve comes in at 2.2, which is exactly on our desired target and indicates that content will look roughly as bright as it should.

Surprisingly, the A1 Gamut has an on-target default gamma curve of 2.2, which means the luminance of content appears as it should. The color temperature is also near ideal at 6600K, a hair off the target of 6500K. That means the image doesn’t appear too warm or too cool. Combined, these traits help provide an image that looks realistic and accurate. For those devices without a Type-C port for video output, such as TV boxes, PC,s or older game consoles, the A1 Gamut monitor offers another connectivity with the Mini HDMI port. But in this case, the external power supply is necessary through the type-C power port. Plug and Play: No apps or drivers needed, simply connect with one USB-C cable for video signal and power. (Full-featured USB port required for phones)
