About this deal

Horus did not retort and the Lion did not wait for a reply. His gaze turned to Luther and the other Dark Angels. The primarch did not raise his voice, but his anger was palpable, a barely suppressed rage hidden behind softly spoken words. You were my right hand, Luther, as I had been yours. I must know where my hand is at all times. I cannot move my gaze away only for my hand to take up a blade without my knowledge.’ The Defenders of Caliban will form the second faction of the Angels of Caliban expansion. They will arrive, shrouded in secrets, on 6th November. Knight Households The Lions Dark Angels are shown as the ultimate, best, super soldiers. They appear to have no weaknesses, they are without number or equal. Why the emperor needed another 19 legions is beyond me when he has these! Two storylines here: In Imperium Secundus, the triumvirate hunt down Konrad Curze. On Caliban, the Lion throws more slights upon Luther & the others left behind.

The Knight Households will become a faction in the game, introducing exciting new mechanics to let you pilot these formidable machines of war. Get ready for their release on 20th November! Rhino ( Advancer) • Predator ( Executioner • Infernus) • Land Raider ( Phobos • Proteus • Achilles) • Sabre • Kratos • TermiteRotary bolt pistol - Zahariel wielded a triple-barreled, rotary bolt pistol. The weapon was inherited from Brother Amadis. But then the Lion also surprises with some very genuine moments of introspection and regret for his own being and decisions. He is aware of his failings, but also alone in bearing them, with no one to trust or turn to in earnest. He has no real equal. His brothers are rivals in some ways, and his gene-sons are wary of upsetting him, especially after learning of Nemiel's fate. In one moment he will encourage one of his officers to disagree and speak plainly, the next he will grow furious about it. Unknown to the Dark Angels, the Saroshi had secreted a nuclear device aboard their shuttle, intending to assassinate the fleet's entire command structure, including Jonson; however, Luther and a junior Librarian named Zahariel managed to eject the shuttle into space, causing only minor damage to the flagship though Zahariel suffered serious burns from the shuttle's engines.

Gav also weaved in events from his scattered short stories, like The Lion, which introduced us to Tuchulcha (who obviously appears again, and is creepy as ever, with some dialogue parallels to The Unforgiven), but also saw the execution of Nemiel, Zahariel's friend and cousin. This stokes a lot of fires on Caliban, once Zahariel learns of it from Chapter Master Belath, who we've seen initially in contest with Astelan in Call of the Lion, and later alongside Corswain (who, sadly, only gets mentioned here). The Lord High Exacter, the leader of the Saroshi bureaucracy, denounced Jonson and the Emperor to the primarch's face aboard the Dark Angels' flagship Invincible Reason, and Lion El'Jonson responded by ramming his Power Sword through the fanatical Saroshi leader's body.During the Horus Heresy, and full of details of the I legion's shameful past. Also the third novel in the Imperium Secundus subplot of the larger series. Caliban is the name of a character in the Shakespearean play "The Tempest." Caliban is forced into servitude on an island ruled by Prospero the magician. Growing up alone on the deserted island, he is often depicted as a wild man, or a deformed man -- the only human inhabitant of the island that is otherwise "not honour'd with a human shape" (Prospero, I.2.283). Zabriel - Former Initiate. Unwillingly became a Fallen Angel but now serves Lion El'Jonson as one of The Risen. [6]

Creo que Lion El'johnson es tan mal primarca que su propia legión prefería matarlo por si acaso se había pasado del lado del caos. IV- Iron Circle • Iron Havoc • Stor-Bezashk • Tyranthikos • Tyrant Siege Terminator • Dodakathik • Thunderstrike • Thunderburst • Warsmith • Castellan Rhino • Astelan also provides a perspective not often seen: a reaction to the power of the Space Marines. The Dark Angels and any other chapter may be justified in their battling ways but they do leave a lot of pain and suffering in their wake. It is surprising that is not brought up more often. All of this leads to what I consider the best part of the novel but be warned, spoilers follow so you might want to skip the next paragraph…ANGELS OF CALIBAN is full of affecting moments like this. There’s some thrilling bolter porn for the action junkies but like ANGELS OF DARKNESS, this novel is a much more considerate and thoughtful read. The interactions between the characters, especially the interactions between the primarchs, make for a memorable read. The conflict between Lion and Roboute Guilliman as Lion exerts his authority as Lord Protector of Imperium Secundus is great. As mentioned earlier Lion El’Jonson really can be a bully and while I can’t agree with his methods I find it easy to appreciate him as a character. In contrast to the practicality of Lion, Roboute comes across as naive. They pose a good foil for each other and it’s a shame that their brother Sanguinius has had so little to do in the Imperium Secundus subplot. Sanguinius shows up at the very end of THE UNREMEMBERED EMPIRE and is crowned emperor. Then there’s a brief bit in PHAROS where he’s nearly assassinated and in ANGELS OF CALIBAN he’s too preoccupied with his visions of the future to do much more than intervene when Lion and Roboute come to a an impasse. Otherwise Sanguinius is pretty inconsequential to the whole arc. There is another side to this tale, as the rebellion fomented upon Caliban, going on at the same time as what is mentioned above takes place. Luther, in his role as the regent of Caliban, in the Lion's stead decided that Caliban was what mattered and convinced many of the Dark Angels that the Emperor took their world from them and left them in the hands of someone who was not a true Calibanite. The Lion betrayed them, according to Luther and so decisions had to be made to keep Caliban strong so the Warmaster Horus could be faced. Murder most foul occurred and the new direction of the Dark Angels, 30,000 warriors strong were turned against their own Primarch by a normal man, not even a Space Marine. Luther has power, for sure and it was enough to turn his brothers against the Lion. Roboute Guilliman: Lord of Ultramar • Leman Russ: The Great Wolf • Magnus the Red: Master of Prospero • Perturabo: The Hammer of Olympia • Lorgar: Bearer of the Word • Fulgrim: The Palatine Phoenix • Ferrus Manus: Gorgon of Medusa • Grandfather's Gift • Perturabo: Stone and Iron • Malcador: First Lord of the Imperium • Konrad Curze: A Lesson in Darkness • Jaghatai Khan: Warhawk of Chogoris • Vulkan: Lord of Drakes • Sons of the Emperor • Corax: Lord of Shadows • Angron: Slave of Nuceria • Scions of the Emperor • Konrad Curze: The Night Haunter • Ghost of Nuceria • The Passing of Angels • The Abyssal Edge • Mercy of the Dragon • Lion El'Jonson: Lord of the First • Illyrium • The Revelation of the Word • Morningstar • Will of the Legion • Embers of Extinction • Alpharius: Head of the Hydra • Blood of the Emperor • Loyal Sons • Mortarion: The Pale King • Rogal Dorn: The Emperor's Crusader • Sanguinius: The Great Angel • Heirs of The Emperor Spartan • Kratos • Sicaran ( Venator • Punisher • Arcus • Omega) • Malcador ( Annihilator • Defender • Infernus) • Cerberus • Typhon The most feared branch of the Hexagrammaton, the Dreadwing was called in when the total annihilation of the enemy was necessary. Its members were masters of massacres, purges, and the deployment of Exterminatus-class weaponry. They also specialized in using terror as a weapon. The Dreadwing was an evolution of the earlier Host of Bone, maintaining many of its Scandinavian ceremonies and titles despite the influx of recruits from Caliban. Its members were known to be grim but capable of safely operating some of the most dangerous technologies in the Imperium. Its ranks included most of the Legion's Destroyers and Interemptors but also a large number of Techmarines and Apothecaries. The Dreadwing also operated Terminator units known as the Naufragia. [2b] In its sealed vaults rested the least stable Legion Dreadnoughts, those whose minds had eroded to the point of savageness. [4] Its leader was known as Dreadbringer. [2a]

During the latter stages of the Thramas Crusade, the Lion becomes aware of movement in the East, beyond the massive warp disturbances known as the Ruinstorm. Through scattered signals he receives an invitation from Roboute Guilliman of the Ultramarines, requesting his aid in the creation of a new line of defence against Horus’s dominance.

I am posting this excerpt as it shows one of the reasons Luther rebelled against Lion, but it also has a nice portrayal of Lion's temper. The Dark Angels are about to arrive to The Horus Heresy: Legions! Read on to learn about them and which other new factions will be part of the ‘Angels of Caliban’ expansion, starting on October 23rd! The Dark Angels A second group pursue the Traitor Death Guard but this is only hinted at not covered. Meanwhile on Caliban treason and dissension boil over in what will become the defining feature of the Legion's history. This story shares equal billing with the Lion and is again quite well handled with a fascinating cast of quite unlikable characters.
