About this deal

The main storyline is typical Steel fare, a divorced middle-aged woman wronged by her husband, who cheated on her with a much younger woman She goes to Paris for work, meets a new man. Thanks to Louis, she no longer had to work, and was enjoying her retirement on the Riviera, with fond memories of him. In Danielle Steel’s normal fashion this one starts off in a fast forward style introducing tons of characters staying and working at the hotel and bringing into play all of their situations. Despite the tragedy, setbacks and pain, a heartwarming romance sparks between two characters based at the hotel. The new manager not being great is mentioned many times, and I really did not see the point in this character, but the assistant was great and bit part suddenly grew wings out of nowhere.

She is also the author of His Bright Light, the story of her son Nick Traina’s life and death; A Gift of Hope, a memoir of her work with the homeless; Expect a Miracle, a book of her favorite quotations for inspiration and comfort; Pure Joy, about the dogs she and her family have loved; and the children’s books Pretty Minnie in Paris and Pretty Minnie in Hollywood. She is also the author of His Bright Light, the story of her son Nick Traina's life and death; A Gift of Hope, a memoir of her work with the homeless; and the children's books Pretty Minnie in Paris and Pretty Minnie in Hollywood. A high-profile politician's career will be tarnished with scandal after a mystery meeting conducted at the hotel. A vicious cancer had taken him in its grip halfway through the renovation, and devoured him quickly. Bateau had never had as much responsibility as he would have now, but they believed that he was capable of handling it, and would be equal to the task in a short time.

With loss, health issues, affairs, blackmail, divorce, love and second chances leading the way, Complications is a drama filled story from cover to cover.

It was not a favorite spot of the famously boorish, and the regulars were forgiven all, which created an unshakable, lasting bond between them and the hotel. The third generation of owners of the hotel were consummately discreet and never appeared at the hotel. They’d been in a hurry to hire someone after his predecessor’s untimely death a year before the opening.

The staff of the Louis XVI hotel get much more than they bargained for at the re-opening when a series of dramatic events occur at the hotel. I absolutely love Danielle Steele and have read most of her books, I found this book a bit long and drawn out and the ending hanging. This books comes right out after the Affair, which wasn't homophobic it was incredibly sexist and just outdated. All of our books are 100% brand new, unread and purchased directly from the publishers in bulk allowing us to pass the huge savings on to you! It was interesting up until about the halfway mark, and then it just became repetitive and, to tell the truth, predictable and boring. This story follows a successful art dealer, a London doctor, a French politician, and an American couple celebrating divorces from their former partners. It had taken Lavalle ten years after they had inherited it to convince them to do the renovation, which was more necessary than the guests realized. I think the cast was too wide in this case and Steel worked in a lot of sub plots for such a short novel.

And one of the hotel's most high-profile guests, a French politician and assumed presidential candidate, holds a mysterious meeting in his suite that will threaten his life and legacy. I was kindly provided an e-copy of this book by the publisher (Delacorte Press) or author (Danielle Steel) via NetGalley, so I can give honest review about how I feel about this book. Without going into to much detail, the plot was not at all accomodating to the LGBT+ community and gave a poor description of a man’s struggle to deal with this.Loyal Danielle Steel fans who come to her books for the romance as much as the contemporary issues will find the central love story between Alaistair and Gabrielle to be of high interest. He had no children, and had worked at the Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc for two years at the front desk, and then at the Ritz, where he had done well but had not been considered exceptional.
