About this deal

If I could skip the top notes and go straight to the base I would as I don't mind faint green notes. Rhubarb and tart bergamot are included among the top notes of this fragrance. Next middle notes of green notes, ylang-ylang, and orange blossom move in. The fragrance settles with a base of wood notes, the warm note of amber, rich sandalwood, and sumptuous vanilla. The warm, voluptuous notes of this oriental eau de parfum make it a top choice for evening wear. Thierry Mugler Fragrance Price UK Aura is one of the most beloved and recognisable of Thierry Mugler's fragrances. This particularly strong eau de parfum lasts up to 8 hours with just a few sprays. Aura belongs to the well-known series Thierry Mugler Aura. Daphne Bugey, Amandine Marie, Christophe Raynaud and Marie Salamagne are the parfumeurs who designed this unforgettable fragrance. Warm Fragrance If I concentrate my attention, there is indeed an almond-like nuttiness embedded within, maybe stemming from the Tiger Liana which is described by Daphne Bugey as having vanilla, almond and smoky facets. Occasionally, a fatty, slightly sour animalic nuance can also be perceived. But they are not daring enough to provide a meaningful contrast like patchouli in Angel or aquatic spiciness in Womanity. What an incredibly interesting concoction! The initial blast, at least to my nose, is an almost minty, sweet wintergreen aroma that has me raising a perplexed brow. Once it settles on the skin, the refreshing wintergreen dances with vanilla in the most oddly complex way. I’m not sure about the other notes, but I predominantly get a green, cold, icy refreshing vanilla. I’m not sure if I like it, yet my nose keeps being drawn to my wrist, whether I want to or not. I feel this could almost be unisex, if I really think about it. The trail is a moderate one, and I find this to be incredibly long lasting. I can easily smell this 12 hours later, and that’s without shoving my nose into my skin.

I prefer this over the original but... it must be said that the feelings they evoke are very different. Aura Sensuelle is very close to Aura EDP, closer than the notes list suggests. Vanilla and rhubarb are toned down by a lot, but they're still there as a part of the unmistakable Aura DNA which I'd summarize as 'eating custard in the jungle'. Very leafy and green, but also sweet and creamy and kind of reminiscent of woodruff flavored goodies. In Sensuelle, floral notes were added to make the scent softer and less punchy. I would not have guessed gardenia, but when you know it, it makes sense as a note. Like some plush, velvety white petals floating above all the green leaves. The cinnamon leaf note is also very subtle, I only detect it in because I know it's there. It's a nice little twist, but I wish these two notes were stronger to give the perfume more of a unique, distinct personality. My husband said “you smell like a bunch of pixies hanging out in a wild strawberry bush in the forest.” I sound like I hate this, when I don't. It is quality, and it is distinctive. If you can ignore the whole, medicine thing, it does have a lovely fresh, fizzy quality. It also reminds me of when you walk into the perfume section of a department store and you're hit by a cloud of every perfume under the sun. They may clash, but they also come together in joyous harmony, filling the air. When it was released, it was a perfume that I didn't like. In fact, I never bought it and opted for the Sensuelle version, which was easier to wear in my opinion. A long time later, a sample of a dupe of this fragrance fell into my hands and I found it amazing, it completely conquered me. So I had to start the hunt of this discontinued perfume. And I got at a very good price, a 30 ml size without a box that was missing about 8 ml. I told myself that to have the opportunity to confirm if I really liked the perfume (you never know how successful a dupe can be) and to include a few ml in the collection this was enough. After using it twice I had to look for a replacement and now I have a 90 ml bottle that will allow me to use up the small one without worries. After not liking it at the beginning, Aura has become one of the very few perfumes that I have a replacement for. This is exceptional ! Instant love at first sniff ! Wearing this for the past 5 days now and can’t get myself to wear anything else. Looks like a new signature is about to happen .... By the time I walked from the store to my car... I was already beginning to realize the consequences of my little blind-spray experiment. Perhaps I should have drawn some conclusions about the juice from the color of the bottle. (I try not to judge a book by its cover, but maybe I should have suspected that the color green might signify something in this case.) What I experienced was... mentholated, to say the least.

Personally I prefer Angel to Aura, but I really appreciate the pioneering concept of Aura. Angel and Aura are completely different fragrances, but they are still in the same vein of futuristic inedible gourmands of their eras (they were also released 25 years apart by Mugler). Although full of notes of over-ripened fruits, caramel, and honey, Angel gives an inedible feel in its baby-blue liquid, and the overdose of patchouli and peppery spices. As for Aura, it has green and ambroxan (wolfwood) notes that paint the picture of a lively tropical rainforest that makes the vanilla cake inedible. The opening is all about challenging medicinal eucalyptus that smells like menthol, but worse. Many tones appear next. The aquatic notes probably include non-zesty citrus, lily, orchid, and aldehyde/ ozone, while perhaps the floral notes include rose, geranium, lily-of-the-valley, orange blossom, jasmine, and ylang ylang, but associated with that ambiguous "solar note" that is seldom added to floral notes to create a fresh-spicy aspect. The aromatic herbs are potentially eucalyptus, cinnamon, lavender, and oakmoss. The green note is clean and indicates freshly-cut leaves, stems, and grass, without being dirty or earthy, but with a hint of sweet-and-sour fruity-grape nuance. The base is about cedar wood, ambery-green resin (most probably, galbanum root), and cosmetic powdery notes (I bid for musk, violet, orris, vanilla or coumarin/ tonka, as well as marzipan/ almond without a doubt). It is early evening in late summer. The sun is low and warm yellow in the sky. I decide to walk after dinner, wandering no where in particular. The blossoms and herbs release their heady and rich scents leading me onwards. I realize I am in my favorite grove of fragrant trees. It is lit by fireflies. This is where I have met my beloved many times before. Will they appear tonight? Because of this creamy texture and intense sweetness, I don't recognise it as rhubarb like in Hermès Rhubarbe Ecarlate, which is much more juicy, more sparkling and natural-smelling. In fact, the creamy fruitiness combined with the tropical, ripe greenness briefly evokes green banana in my head. Like an immersion in the heart of lush vegetation with pure and green freshness, this accord unveils a duo of green and floral notes: the original combination of Rhubarb Leaf with tangy and crunchy notes, with luminous Orange Blossom and deliciously feminine. Together, they diffuse an intense vibrant freshness
