About this deal

The mandarin will tone down, the coconut and amber will take the lead, giving you a smooth and clean aroma. It’s a nice balance of fruity and warm, while being great for the summertime. Davidoff, though now a top name in the men’s fragrance world, began life very humbly as a family-run business in Switzerland. The fragrance opens with a fresh burst of citrus before the sensual sage and pure galbanum essence shines through. The scent’s base is a woody tone from oakmoss to boost the character of the fragrance to where a champion deserves. Horizon Zino Davidoff, as a soft woody-amber fragrance with a predominance of the chocolate-powdery notes of patchouli, is surprisingly relevant today, although it was discontinued in 2013. At present, it would goseamlessly with the collection of aniche perfume house from Europewhose motto is 'soft, natural sexuality and a classic approach.' Give it a name like Lavender Patchouli or Patchouli Cashmere, and launch it! Maybe Teo Cabanel would name it Très Parisien.

How this is still being made I do not know. This could just as easily have been launched in 1886 vs. 1986, given how far it is from modern fragrance sensibilities. But what a rich experience! The balsam and strange overripe brew of florals drying down to one of the best patchoulis ever. Stands up straight, has great manners, and then winks at you with just a hint of lasciviousness. Delicious! For the man who takes the time to build both physical and mental power, Champion adds to the daily ritual of this focussed man who knows what he wants and is ready to overcome all challenges.

For those who see Zino as just too weird, or dated, or feminine, it’s worth looking at some of its contemporaries, especially those that used rose, lily-of-the-valley and other florals as central to their composition—like many of the fabulous early Estee Lauder scents like Aromatics Elixir (1971) and Aramis 900 (1973) and the legendary JHL (1982) and Lauder for Men (1985). Zino is in great company here, and not all that different from these or from Obsession (1986) which came out the same year, or it’s slightly older floral patchouli brother, Giorgio for Men (1984), with its similarly stunning patchouli drydown. These would be followed at the end of the decade by Boucheron Pour Homme (1989), another seminal men’s fragrance with rose and soap at its heart. Not all so long ago really. But now from a totally different era. That there are some floral notes in the Zino, I personally can not confirm so, because I do not perceive them in the fragrance. For me, the spicy-balsamic chords from the beginning are too dominant, as that I smell out any flowers in the further course. But this does not bother me in the slightest way, because I love him as he is.

The underlying strategy is not accessible to me. Production costs? Not really, please!! It would be so easy to stay in the market with constant quality and when the life cycle has reached the end, to release a completely new fragrance with a new name. Would be a pity for the old, but at least consistent! But this irritating fledderei has fraudulent traits. Starting with a feeling of discovery and uprising with an energising rosemary and ginger blend, the mid-tones come through with rich cocoa for a warming and sensual layer. The base tones of vetiver and cedarwood then make way for a strong masculine foundation. Hot Water Zino Davidoff Group is the trading name of Zino Davidoff SA, [1] a Swiss family business that was spun out of tobacco-product company Davidoff in 1980. [2] It is active exclusively in the non-tobacco luxury goods segment and offers a range of upscale products. [3] Overview [ edit ] So spicy and yet warm, so woody and yet soft, the individual components I can honestly not smell out, but the bergamot and lavender are there, I notice. And when I read up on it, I learned that flowers are also present, although you can't smell them out, but the interplay of the individual notes results in this great fragrance, which can really do something. You are perfumed and yet not, because it smells neither like aftershave nor like a perfume, but has its own character, which somehow radiates an aura that makes you smile, that you can't resist, that catches you without you knowing exactly why. I'm really excited about it. When I was still going to work, our team leader had put on a scent in the office one day that immediately got up my nose. It was so striking because I had never sniffed any perfume or evtl. aftershave fragrance on him before.

Review of Zino

For now more than 30 years he is on the market and enjoys still - and rightly as I think - great popularity with many men. A true character fragrance, which is certainly not a so-called. 'Mainstreamer' is, but equipped with corners and edges. A fragrance that doesn't care what others think or think of him. He knows that he radiates personality and charisma and simply goes his way. The philosophy is to keep the classic architecture in the new perfumes by inserting new ingredients instead of the expected ones. So, for the 1986 Zino, Almairac took the structure of the feminine classic Shalimar Guerlain - citruses and flowers based on vanilla and tonka beans - and masculinized it, fortifying the base with cedar, sandalwood, and patchouli, but omitting tonka beans. The tophas been given a classic men's barbershop duo of lavender and rosewood instead of Shalimar'sflowers." I would like and have to write a comment on one of the most beautiful fragrances my nose has ever smelled. And among the fragrances is the Zino here - next to the Cool Water - probably as the best known. And for me personally the best. It went on to influence many perfumes - the connection to Heritage(Guerlain) and Beau du Jour (Tom Ford) is well known. It also seems to have influenced Lui (Mazzolari) - which just feels like they undressed Zino. So, less rounded & sweet and more rancid, sweaty, animalic Patchouli. Even Danger (Roja) is definitely influenced by this, via Heritage - a posh modernised variation. Created by Pierre Bourdon, Cool Water embraces the sheer power of the ocean. As the original marine fragrance for men and inspired by the freshness of the ocean, Cool Water is a powerful scent that is as popular now as it was when it first launched in 1988. The durability is in my opinion very good and lasts for about 8 hours Even the next morning Madame Smellow smells it still very good on my skin. But when I hung up the Zino, I was almost scared. My ancient olfactory memory reported: false bottle, fool. I looked it up, nope, it says Zino. The perfect scent for the freezing cold winter Btw. here was not the vintage version described. This pairing is joined by its aquatic notes, which don’t feel to powerful and not really a salt water smell, at least for me. Not too complex. This stuff projects extremely well. and goes for a long time. Still a casual sort of fragrance, but the best Davidoff release in a long while.
