To me personally I use this for layering as I prefer a stronger fragrance but this is nice if you like spicy/woody perfumes on the much tamer side. This is my first Versace perfume and I am frankly surprised that I like it being partial to Guerlain perfumes. I could have never imagined that these two opposite olfactory directions could meet somewhere midway.It really makes it delicious and irresistible to want to smell, and it blends so well with the florals and base notes. Update: Recently this has become even more sweet(It's the coconut and floral I believe) and I'm truly enjoying it more.

imo versace's best offering, crystal noir last for 6+ hours on skin, has a cooling effect and works in almost any season. I also have cathedral associations like many do and it doesent even have incense or anything smokey. Once it dries down it starts to smell like the original, just the top notes come off differently now. Everytime a get a whiff, I smell something different, which I do enjoy in perfumes, not often I get most of the notes. The central note of the composition is mysterious gardenia, fresh, sensual, luminous and creamy, reproduced by 'headspace' technology.

A late 2022 bottle smells VERY different than a 2021 bottle, which are both the same “reformulation. And yet, like Chloé’s Nomade Eau de Parfum, something about Crystal Noir reminds me of a very fresh and clean woman who’s just gotten out of the shower. You can perfectly emphasise your seventh sense for glamorous exclusivity with the exciting fragrance of Crystal Noir. There’s that sensual musk sort of molecule alongside the amber of the base, but it’s topped with an artful fresh breath of gardenia.
