About this deal

Set the length of your espresso via the MEMO function. For a traditional Italian espresso, set it to 30ml.

It sounds like I’m damning the Gaggia Brera with faint praise when I say that it’s the best at what it does for its price point. I’m not. You would think you had spent twice the price on it. There are certainly better machines out there if you want to fork out several thousand dollars. If not, this is the one to go for. And as for those “stainless steel” front panels, they’re made of the most plastic-like stainless steel I’ve ever encountered. As above, great machine, great to use, very pleased with results and an accompanying guarantee makes a perfect cuppa, love it x It’s relatively easy to clean. This is important, as it needs cleaning regularly to stay in top condition. However, the Brera does include the next best thing: a memo function. Once you’re done honing your latest espresso settings, you’ll have the option to save them for next time. This mostly correlates to aroma intensity or the volume of espresso you’re brewing. However, the espresso it gives isn’t quite up to the standard of more advanced, more expensive machines. If you’re a real coffee snob then you should save up and go for the bigger guns. The ceramic burr grinder is located on the top of the machine and has a number of settings for coarseness. The great thing about a ceramic grinder is that it produces less heat when grinding beans, which prevents flavour evaporating and maintains aroma. Ceramics are also inert, so grinding shouldn’t change the flavour of the beans. Gaggia hasn’t made the leap to smartphone compatibility or apps yet, and the user interface completes the retro vibe this machine is striving for. It’s not as high-tech as some of the display interfaces I’ve seen on other Gaggia machines. However, it’s also not hard to operate either. For one of the best entry level super automatics, I really can’t ask for more.

I’ve reviewed plenty of compact automatics lately, but I think the Gaggia Brera might just take home the trophy here. At just over 12 inches (30 centimeters) tall and weighing less than 20 pounds (8 kilograms), you’d be hard-pressed to find a smaller competitor. Love the machine but annoying it shows red symbols as you switch on , have to open side door adjust side panel then you are good to goThe display is LED push-button, with illuminated icons to make it easy to choose between different options.

Automatic coffee machines are now one of the best solutions for anyone who wants to enjoy a coffee like they have in a bar in their own home. The main feature of an automatic coffee machine is the presence of an integrated coffee grinder which, by means of a simple key, allows you to grind the coffee and obtain the selected beverage in a few seconds. Additional features of automatic coffee machines include the ability to prepare more drinks (espresso, coffee, cappuccino, latte macchiato, etc.), by adjusting the degree of coffee grinding, using the memory and auto-off versions. Automatic coffee machines are very simple to manage in terms of maintenance too, thanks to the presence of cleaning cycles that start every time the machine is turned on. Here’s a brief guide that will help you choose the best when you’re buying an automatic coffee machine to suits your needs. A classic automatic machine – for those who don’t have a high budget but enjoy the taste of an excellent espresso, coffee or cappuccino at home. GAGGIA BRERA SILVER RI9305/01 Always run water through brewhead without attaching the filter holder, when you are doing the descaling procedure] This is the second Gaggia Brera I’ve had….the first one lasted 15 years! I love this little machine. So clean and easy to use, makes great coffee every time, I wouldn’t be without it, nor would I even look at another brand or model. I highly recommend this machine. The Gaggia Brera has a stainless steel front panel, giving it a professional look suitable also for environments outside the kitchen. The body is not entirely made of steel: the side panels and the control knob are plastic. Despite its large size, the Gaggia Brera is not very large in terms of water capacity (1.2 L) and grounds repository (8 servings). I have plenty of depth to play with on my kitchen worktops, but there's a real struggle for horizontal space, and also vertical space due to the cupboards above, so I found the Brera to be a slightly better fit in terms of space for my kitchen.

FAQs

If you need sparts, we are directing you to our Spares Specialist for wide range of parts that you may need. While the Gaggia Brera might fall a little flat when it comes to customization or versatility, you’ll be hard-pressed to find a super automatic machine that performs as well at this price. To the left of the control panel are two buttons for adjusting coffee volume. While this is a standard feature on most bean-to-cup machines, the design makes it simple to adjust the quantity depending on your cup size. You can also adjust the height of the coffee dispenser. We recommended setting the dispenser just above the top of the cup, as this improves the crema. Espresso Taste Bad news: it is hard to find espresso machines with a built-in grinder that are also versatile, good value for money, and let you enjoy delicious espresso shots as well as frothy milk-based drinks. The Gaggia Brera’s tools are also good. I love a ceramic grinder, and this one doesn’t disappoint. Ceramics are inert, meaning they won’t contaminate the beans. They also produce less heat when grinding, which will help to maintain the aroma and flavor by not evaporating any of it.
