About this deal

The Hawk’s Nest is a garden bar hidden under a glittering arch in West London. With plenty of themed evenings – Margarita Mondays, Quiz Tuesdays, and 2-4-1 Student Wednesdays – you’re always sure to be in good company.

Located upstairs from Lyaness at Sea Containers, 12th Knothas the additional allure of being a rooftop view. Let’s go on a massive tour of all those amazing bars in Victoria” is not, we’ll admit, something that’s said very often. The draw of this bar is definitely the dart boards, but even if you don’t fancy a game, the electric atmosphere and selection of drinks are reason enough to visit. Ryan Chetiyawardana has outdone himself with his latest bar, Seed Library. It’s dark, it’s moody, it’s excellent. During Wimbledon (27th June – 10th July), there will be an outdoor bar and lounge in the courtyard. Watch the all the matches whilst sampling Amie’s four signature wines.Amie continues to grow in the South Korean market. The brand is set to produce 400,000 bottles this year, a third of which will be sold in export markets, and South Korea makes up over half of sales outside the UK. Having a physical space will aid this growth further. “The Amie Wine Studio is a hub people can go to in Seoul. It’s good in terms of brand awareness for us in its own right, like a sort of permanent pop-up,” Sandbach explains. Pair that with friendly bar staff and a gorgeous art-deco decor and you’ll see why this is one of our favourite bars in London. Disrepute

There are so many things that I love about owning my own business, but I think my favourite thing is being able to take creative ideas and run with them, without having to ask anyone else for permission or their opinion. I truly get a high off of new launches and exciting announcements. How do you deal with the challenges of owning a business? Amie has experienced significant growth since its inception, and Roden and Sandbach have extended the range from one rosé to six different wines. The pair are also keen on exports, with established importers in Australia, Norway and Singapore, and plans to launch in the US in July. We all have our ‘go to’ wines but it’s also lovely to discover new tastes, some might not have the necessary time/knowledge to slog over choosing – let us do the job . Be sure that you know your roles. Who does what for the business? For us, I am definitely in charge of marketing: creative events, activations, and brand partnerships. Will handles all things operations: logistics, finance, business. Also be sure to make time for yourself, and for your friends (without your partner). Can you tell us a little bit about the production of your wines? Now, Amie is launching a second physical space in the South Korean capital of Seoul, its biggest export market. Sandbach believes that Korean consumers are more open to up-and-coming wine brands than more mature and established wine markets, making it the perfect place for expansion. The emphasis is – obviously – on gin – served up in huge, fishbowl glasses popular in the Basque region of Spain. Hidden away atop one of London’s oldest and best-respected restaurants, Upstairs at Rules is a serious delight. Amie is hosting its opening party this week in Seoul, and will trial a new rosé cremant in the South Korean market before launching it in the UK.

The drinks are outstanding (and decently-priced – a big win). Our favourites include the Raspberry Leaf Bellini and the Curry Leaf Stonefence, though feel free to drink your way through the menu. You’re going to want to stay a while. Drinking our way around the best bars in London is something we’ve become rather good at – from Farringdon to Covent Garden, Shoreditch to Soho and London Bridge, we’ve written so many neighbourhood bar guides that it made sense to do the big one: the best bars in London. I feel like I've gotten better over the past few years; I've learned not to take on too much at once. I used to do this and it would cause so much stress and anxiety. I try to switch my phone off in the evenings, and make time to read a chapter before bed; I also love doing a workout at least 2 times a week if I can, although sometimes with my schedule it isn't possible! Finding 'me time' is really important, which I don't think I knew a few years ago. When it comes to actual business challenges, I do find that connecting with other people is great, and hearing other Founders' stories is always really inspiring. Do you have any advice for other founders? We had the pleasure of getting to know amie’s co-founder, Abbie Roden , and getting to the heart of how she carved amie into the success it is today. Tell us about amie and how the business came to be.

Located on the River Roading in the east stretches of Barking, Boathouse is a relaxed watering hole where you can grab a chilled pint. As one of the most fun bars London has to offer, an evening playing darts and quaffing drinks at Flight Club is a must. Even better, the folks at Flat Iron Square have just put up their awnings and popped on the heating to make things nice and cosy. Oozing charm and a relaxed atmosphere – Authentique has not only guaranteed its position as a favourite with Tufnell Park locals, but it’s also gathered quite the city-wide following too. That’s in no small part down to the excellent wine – sourced from French-speaking parts of the world – and tasty deli bites. Looking for the best bars in London?
