About this deal

Tella is supposed to walk until she hears something that makes her stop. She stops at a door when she hears her sister’s voice. She’s in her room with Julian, telling him she wants to trust him again but can’t. They refer to Julian as Legend’s brother. Maybe this was the clue she was intended to hear. Tella knew Scarlett thought she was lazy. But Tella had a theory: Neat rooms were easy to rifle through and search undetected because it was simple to put carefully placed things exactly where they’d been. But messes, on the other hand, were difficult to re-create. With one sweeping gaze, Tella could see no one had been brave enough to lay a finger on her personal disaster. Everything appeared untouched, even though there now seemed to be an additional bed, which Tella imagined must have magically appeared, or more likely had been carried upstairs for her sister. I knew I would like Tella, especially after what she did in the first book, but I didn't expect to fall so head-over-heels for this girl. She's way more complex and brave than she lets on. This is a girl you can root for. There's much more to her history and past that you don't get from Scarlett's POV, and oh my heart broke for her over and over. One of the most captivating parts of the story is the romance between Tella and Dante. The chemistry between them is palpable, and they have a wonderful dynamic, replete with plenty of playful banter and swoon-worthy interactions. It is a slow-burn romance, where you are left wondering if they will end up together right up until the end of the book. mentira al final no se las dejo porque es spoiler, pero creanme cuando les digo QUE ES UNA SSHHHHEINA

Plot and characters aside, Legendary excels at world expansion. In this book, we journey to a hitherto unexplored part of the Caraval universe: the capital city of Valenda. With “sky carriages” (cable cars to us non-Valendans) and such intriguing-sounding neighborhoods as the Spice Quarter and Temple District, it is a wonderfully magical setting, and through her well-penned descriptions, Garber brings the city to life. As you read the story, you feel as though you, not Tella, are the one getting lost in its labyrinthine streets and alleyways. The not so good Ugh, where do I even begin? I just felt so meh about this book at the halfway mark and beyond. What went wrong, you might ask? I have no idea. For it was also said the Prince of Hearts was not capable of love, because his heart had stopped beating long ago. Only one person could make it beat again: his one true love. They said his kiss had been fatal to all but her—his only weakness—and as he’d sought her, he’d left a trail of corpses.” In this case, the book is narrated by Donatella Dragna, after the end of the first book, we know that she has a debt to pay to a “friend”, it will be paid if she discovers Legend's identity. To do this, she must participate in Caraval once again, this time as a player, and claim her prize, although this game is nothing like the previous one.flaco si no leíste caraval ni legendary para cuando hayas llegado hasta acá, no sé que carajo estás haciendo de tu vida first off, i want to apologize for taking so long to write this review, school has been so tough, and i haven't found the time <3 Tella knows the first clue sent her to look for a church, so she goes to that district. Elantine’s citizens worship a variety of deities, but Tella has a feeling she’s looking for the hidden church of Legend. Dante shows her the way to Legend’s church. He gives her a pair of gloves that have hidden spikes in the fingers for protection. Tella wakes up days later in Scarlett’s room. She scolds Tella for being swept away by Dante. Tella assures her she isn’t and that he isn’t a very good kisser. Tella confides that she’s going to play Caraval this time and says they should play together. One look from Julian convinces Tella that she should talk Scarlett out of it.

the anticipation for me.. when i found out who actually was legend, shook. but what i truly am in love with is stephanie garber's writing. sure, her worldbuilding was predictably confusing, but just the way she makes me feel like i'm in a whole new magical and enchanted world. i questioned everything while reading legendary, the familiar feeling of not quite knowing if caraval is a game or not!

Scarlett was right to worry about the count. If Scarlett’s former fiancé discovered Tella was alive, he could send word to their father—who believed Tella was dead—and it would shatter everything. Those of you who read that review know that I loved Carval so much because of its AESTHETIC. My aquarius rising LOVES THE VIBES. This book had less of the fairytale vibe and that kind of made me sad but then I came to an interesting conclusion. It's not much of a spoiler (maybe a TINY SPOILER), that in Legendary it's revealed that "everything's now real, it's not a game" and when you read the story from Donatella's POV, you CAN REALLY TELL THAT IT'S NOT A GAME TO HER! Hope that tells you something about how well these books are written. They see Scarlett and Julian in a garden. They’ve clearly made up. They learn that Tella won the game. She sees relief in Julian’s eyes when she says Legend walked away as soon as she won. How did Legendary end? This was why love was so dangerous. Love turn the whole world into a garden, so beguiling it was easy to forget that rose petals were as ephemeral as feelings, eventually they would wilt and die, leaving nothing but the thorns. Scarlett Dragna is the main character in this story. She has never actually set foot off of the small island where she lives. Scarlett lives on the tiny island with her sister Tella and their father, who is powerful and cruel.
