About this deal

Intrinsic staining happens inside your teeth and can be caused by trauma, certain medical treatment or excessive childhood fluoride consumption (but this is rare in the UK). Teeth also yellow as we age, due to thinning enamel. The only way to remove intrinsic staining is bleaching through dentist-administered professional products (using hydrogen peroxide). Xylitol is a natural sweetener that is present in vegetables, fruits and birch trees. The xylitol in our products is derived from birch trees. This sweetener has a fresh taste and is good for teeth and gums. It helps reduce plaque because the bacteria responsible for plaque build-up cannot feed on xylitol like they can glucose. It is a low-carb ingredient and has health-promoting characteristics. In addition, xylitol also helps prevent dry mouth. bluem® Toothpaste Ingredients In addition to lifting light surface stains, this whitening toothpaste has antibacterial properties to help fight gum disease and tooth decay, so it covers the duties any toothpaste should perform. Plus, it's incredibly affordable, especially compared to other at-home and professional whitening products.

The baking soda neutralizes the acid in your mouth so it's gentle on your enamel. Our tester noted that this toothpaste was a bit grainy but still comfortable to use and didn't cause any sensitivities. Our tester also noted that the taste was initially slightly bitter, but they got used to it after continued use. Extrinsic staining surface stains typically caused by smoking, or drinking tea, coffee or red wine. These respond well to brushing with whitening toothpaste, which contains ingredients to help remove stains, but won’t change the underlying colour of your teeth. All bluem® toothpaste is PH-neutral with an extremely low abrasion rate, virtually eliminating the erosion of tooth enamel, as well as preventing damage to dental implants and crowns. These might have an immediate whitening effect, but won’t last as saliva washes away most paste quite rapidly. Look carefully and you'll see the claims have small print to this effect. When we challenged Colgate about its Purple Reveal toothpaste, it couldn't tell us exactly how long the effect would last. Sodium bicarbonate Along with five out of five stars for flavor, this toothpaste earned five out of five stars for comfort for its smooth and gentle feeling. It contains silica and mica, which can remove stains in as little as five days, and it offers 24-hour stain prevention when used twice daily. Our tester noted that the difference in tooth color was not significant with this whitening toothpaste but felt this was a good option if you want an everyday toothpaste that tastes great and also has a whitening component. No, it's not bad for you. In fact, fluoride is very good for your teeth as long as it's not ingested in large quantities. Fluoride has certain benefits for your teeth such as remineralizing, antibacterial properties, and preventing future decay. Joseph Field, DDS, a dentist in Los Altos, CA explains that fluoride helps lower the acidity in our mouth from what we eat and drink, which will otherwise demineralize our enamel which can in turn cause cavities. Because over-the-counter whitening products can only include a small amount of whitening agents, these toothpastes won’t actively brighten the natural colour of your teeth. That can only be achieved by a dentist’s use of professional products that contain hydrogen peroxide, and should only be used once in a while. Most whitening toothpastes won’t brighten your teeth overnight but, when used regularly, they can remove existing surface stains and protect your teeth against future stains, too. Can I use whitening toothpaste every day? Klēn's natural toothpaste uses Bentonite Clay, a fluoride alternative with antibacterial properties; aloe leaf extract; and tea tree leaf oil instead, which Dr. Tozzi says is "abrasive enough to clean while still being gentle on enamel." Dr. Devore adds that he likes tea tree oil in toothpaste thanks to its antibacterial and antiviral properties.

The higher the hydrogen peroxide content, the more effective the toothpaste will be at whitening. Keep in mind that this could make the product more likely to irritate your teeth and gums. Our tester noted that this toothpaste has a mild gritty feeling but is not uncomfortable, and they also noted a mild whitening of their teeth after just a single brushing. This toothpaste comes in 3oz tubes which makes it small but travel-friendly.Colgate has long been a staple in many bathrooms, and although it has a wide range of whitening toothpastes available, we’re particularly keen on the triple action of the Max White. It contains three active minerals, which help to polish, protect and strengthen, including potassium nitrate to desensitise tooth nerves and cleaning crystals that remove surface stains. bluem® Toothpaste with Calcium Fluoride can help prevent and treat, bleeding and infected gums, as well as other oral complaints such as peri-implantitis and periodontitis. Benefits of bluem® Toothpaste bluem® toothpaste with calcium fluoride contains the following ingredients: Glycerin, Hydrated Silica, Aqua, Mel, PEG-32, Aroma, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Cellulose Gum, Magnesium Sulfate, Sodium Citrate, Sodium Carbonate Peroxide, Sodium Saccharin, Xylitol, Calcium Fluoride, Methyl Salicylate, Sodium Sulfate, Sodium Chloride, Sodium Methylparaben, Lactoferrin, Citric Acid, Phenethyl Alcohol, Caprylyl Glycol, Limonene, CI 42090. Both aim to cancel out yellow tones due to colour science (complementary colours neutralise each other, and blue/purple and yellow are complementary).

Chemical whiteners: Hydrogen peroxide is a common chemical whitening (or bleaching) agent often found in whitening kits and whitening toothpaste because of its ability to remove stains. “Peroxides, when used the way they're designed to be used, can whiten teeth,” Dr. Hewlett says. He warns, though, that for best results, this ingredient needs to remain on the teeth for longer periods to remove stains. So if you are finding that peroxide-based toothpaste is not giving you the results you want, you might want to consider a whitening kit or professional whitening treatment.Chemical ingredients have a leg up on abrasive ingredients: They can continue to work after you finish brushing—as long as you don’t rinse your mouth out after.Fluoride-free formulas - some products making natural claims are also fluoride free. This puts you at increased risk of dental caries, no matter how carefully you brush. Fluoride is considered to be safe and effective by dental experts. Toothpaste tablets that you chew aim to cut down on the plastic waste generated by toothpaste tubes. While it wasn't always the case, many toothpaste tubes are now recyclable, as they're manufactured from plastic alone, as opposed to a mix of plastic and metal.
