About this deal

Canon has also graced the model with a very respectable 5fps burst-shooting option, as well as both Wi-Fi and NFC so that you can get your images out without the hassle of cables.

But the most aggravating problem with the Canon EOS 750D is battery life. Its 440 shot-capacity is acceptable, being both a match for the 700D (despite the extra power requirements of a higher sensor resolution) and the Pentax K-S2, but the 820-shot lifespan of the Nikon D5500 puts it very much in the shade. There’s an anti-aliasing filter, so while detail is well-rendered, if you pixel-peep at 100%, you might find fractionally more in cameras such as the Nikon D5600. Dynamic range is also less impressive than some of its rivals, but looking at images in isolation, you should still be pretty pleased with them. The mode dial features priority modes that let you control one main element, such as aperture or shutter speed, letting the camera sort out the rest to best suit that setting. We use these easy manual modes about 90% of the time. At the time of the 750D’s launch, Wi-Fi and NFC were pretty much the standard connectivity options for cameras like this. These days, NFC has on the whole disappeared, while always-on low-power Bluetooth connectivity is very popular. Loaded with a Lexar Professional 2000x 64GB SDXC UHS-II memory card and set to record in Raw, the 750D had no difficulties rattling out a burst of 8 frames at 5fps before requiring a breather. This figure shot up switching it to record in JPEG where the camera continuously fired at 5fps for as long as I had my finger depressed on the shutter button.

Something else that splits the camera from its more basic stablemates is the 7560 pixel RGB+IR metering sensor. This is the same unit as in the more expensive EOS 77D and EOS 80D models, and this works to ensure that images are accurately exposed, using information from the camera's focusing system and camera-to-subject distance to get it bang on.
