About this deal

And there he also wants to arrive well. The super fresh and somewhat sweet start of soft citrus wakes you up first again, before you are attracted by the well-harmonizing spices. A powerful mix of pepper, wood and leather. Definitely very masculine. Very present, alerting, but not penetrating. Comparisons I've seen between this original EDT (2014) and the subsequent Parfum version (2015) seem to suggest that the Parfum is both more acclaimed and more up my alley personally, and then there are of course the other variants that have come out and been pretty popular since then (Polaris and especially Pulse of the Night)

Late in the evening on the beach, you sit down with a group of Thais and Europeans at the campfire. All sorts of woods flame together and dance in the moonlight. You are deeply relaxed and holding on to every second, because you know everything is in motion and fleeting.... Certainly no fragrance for all days - But surely one for one night - Its intense, heavy sillage is unmistakable even with a lot of headwind in the club. Dominant. With extremely long-lasting effect at least 6 hours on the body and perceptible until the morning after, pepper. When you look at an eau de parfum in a specialist shop, the young, rather ignorant lady usually comes and explains that the concentration here is much higher than with an eau de toilette, and that is why it is or must last much longer than a conventional ordinary fragrance. This evokes a classic “what's not to like?” reaction from me, as it's so easily likable (and the assortment of notes seems formulaically safe to yield a good result) yet I can see how some might not be smitten with it. It's good, certainly, but is it great? It's surely practical, as, despite pertaining to the night in name, it's invigorating and fresh enough to be a daytime and year-round option to the point that I doubt it would seem out of place even in the heat of summer. With a delicate blend of nature and technology, each fragrance captures the essence of pure beauty, transporting you to a realm of sophistication and tranquility.

In the heart of nature with all its power and mystery, under the watchful eye of the moon, the senses are awakened, emotions are amplified. Nuit D’issey captures this force and bestows natural powers of attraction on the wearer. Nuit d'Issey is an extremely fresh, young and urban incense, but without losing an iota of elegance, with a very marked masculinity, and an extraordinary cleaning. I really liked this interpretation of the incense, very far from the incenses that I usually consume, but also a very beautiful incense. With this one one knew admittedly that one must bring a second Flanker, but how exactly one wanted to proceed, was somewhat unclear. This ambiguity lasted to the end. Dive into the night, nature and sky will become one. Under the influence of the moon, nature is magnified, senses are enhanced, emotions deepened, 'Nuit D'Issey' draws its strength from the powerful and mysterious nature and empowers the man that wears it with a powerful force of natural attraction.

If perfume companies assume that men will wear anything under a familiar label, they make a mistake. Even if your average guy doesn’t want to push his boundaries with new scents, he still wants quality and classical good taste. When my cousin’s beloved Axe Apollo got reformulated and lost in diffusion and finesse, he instantly noticed it. What resulted was a soliloquy worthy of a Greek tragic hero. In the drydown a spics spice mix develops, but the spices are bite really hot - I get predominantly nutmeg and a whiff of white pepper, with a sweetish vetiver adding additional nuances. This vetiver is light, and without any earthy or deeper character. A pleasant suede impression develops, which is underlined by a nonspecific woodsiness at times. Towards the base a soft in and transiently mikes an appearance; it is quite weak and more of a non-event. The fruity notes paired with desiccated woods remind me of Paco Rabanne’s One Million (and of Amouage Journey Man). Trendy inflection aside, Nuit d’Issey is an old school masculine. It’s wholesome and handsome. The familiar sharp citrus of most conventional masculines is here too, so if you’re looking for a quirky fragrance, this number isn’t for you. The top notes are bergamot heavy - synthetic-smelling bergamot that is - with a good measure of grapefruit worked into it - not unexpectedly quite a bright duo. This is my second review. I am far from having a clue. Still, I love the idea of what the architect must have been thinking. Now this is my interpretation:

Issey Miyake Nuit d’Issey Parfum is the 2015 flanker to the 2014 original Nuit EDT, still a mix of spices, leather, florals, and slight sweet, but less fresh and bright than the EDT, much darker and smoother. Interestingly, the EDT could be more of a daytime fragrance and the Parfum is a more truly apt nighttime fragrance than the EDT, but both are fairly agreeable and versatile while still being interesting. I’d certainly be more inclined to wear the EDT than the Parfum in warmer weather specifically, though even the Parfum could work on a summer night, I’d wager. The names of what perfume is now or extreme or intense is owed much more to the design and the appropriate name than to the truth. Nuit d'Issey is so similar to Layton by PdM, though older, that I suspect it served a (perhaps big) little bit as a template. Issey Miyake is yes for a long time and rightly one of the larger manufacturers on the market, on which also houses like Marly should orientate. Night soul perfume and for cold or temperate climates. His dark heart of leather, spices and incense, which despite having that fresh vibe, is not a scent that I see diurnally, anyway, everyone will use it as they prefer, yes, I think that with the heat it would not be Very good ally.

Nuit d’Issey is what I’d call a safe scent, but it’s done so well that it’s worth trying on that basis alone. It has all the hallmarks of a classical masculine fragrance (or the Western masculine, since the other half of the world doesn’t find the gender division in perfumery so compelling). Its dry woody accord is folded into soft leather and sweetened enough with cooked apple notes to make the fragrance approachable and easy-going. If the idea is to find a new daytime fragrance, Nuit d’Issey will fit the bill. It’s thoroughly boardroom acceptable, but it’s far from dull. He fits perfectly to the cold season and also to the short days - and as his name suggests - of course to the night :) Obviously my original commentary was too sharp for this format, so now the *censored* light version for the general public ;-)Many "brand" their products only according to their own feelings. Concentration plays no or almost no role here. There are so many fragrances that have some superfluous additive in their name and are even weaker than the original. Unfortunately, this one too. He smells to me like a long, extensively danced through night. Some things blurred, some inhibitions became secondary, some things disappeared the next day, but one thing is for sure: the scent remains, if not on your skin, then in your head. And not just in your own. Because of my "Spleen's" monthly to increase my collection of flacons / scents, my wife is rather reticent with compliments what my scents concern. But here she came all by herself and said, "smells very good". That means something! Normally I focus on fresh, aquatic, or on Tonka fragrances. This one's different, it's different. I don't want to lift him up on a gallery, just to say he doesn't have to hide. In terms of duration is fine, between 6 and 7 hours in skin, with a moderate projection from the beginning. Indulge your senses with our range of classic, minimalistic scents for both men and women inspired by the iconic fashion house. From the fresh and invigorating L’Eau d’Issey for her, to the bestselling L’Eau d’Issey Pour Homme*, there is a fragrance to suit every personality and occasion.
