About this deal

In investigating the underlying reasons why people sabotage their healing processes, Caroline identified a syndrome as 'woundology', characterized by a person who prefers to rely upon the power of illness for manipulation of his or her world as opposed to attained an independent, empowered state of health. The signature of artists is not in what they do but in how intense their motivation is to manifest the extraordinary. The shadow energy of the Magical Child manifests as the absence of the possibility of miracles and of the transformation of evil to good.

Although the Nature Child has tender, emotional qualities, it can also have an inner toughness and ability to survive–the resilience of Nature herself. The shadow side of these archetypes can manifest as voyeurism, falsifying information, or selling out to the highest bidder. At the same time, because every one of the Child aspects is present in various degrees of strength in every psyche, similar patterns often overlap, making it hard to distinguish which one you relate to most intensely. The 80 cards in this pack clearly and simply show us the Positive and Negative aspects of the archetypes, help us to understand which archetypes we currently identify with and shows how to connect with our unconscious archetypes so that we can gain more control over our behaviour.

The General; Charlie Chaplin in The Circus, The Gold Rush; Giulletta Masina in La Strada; Barbra Steisand in What’s Up, Doc? Films: Terence Stamp in Billy Budd; character of the young Dalai Lama in Kundun; character of the young Pu Yi in The Last Emperor; Alex Wiesendanger in Little Buddha. Her insights offered at a time when most people were collapsing under the weight of war and persecution continue to inspire people to seek out the wondrous side of life, even in a crisis.

Related to the Fool is the Dummling, the fairy tale character who, although often simple-minded, acts with a good heart and is usually rewarded for it. The Gambler is also active in the psyche of people who take risks in politics and other social activities that amount to gambling with one’s reputation.

Films: Warren Beatty in Shampoo; Richard Gere in American Gigolo; Donald Sutherland in Casanova; Michael Caine in Alfie; Johnny Depp in Don Juan di Marco; Jude Law in A. Choosing the Wounded Child suggests that you credit the painful and abusive experiences of your childhood with having a substantial influence on your adult life.
