About this deal

However, there is one thing I don’t like about Speedpaints that no one is really talking about: Even when they’re dried, they will reactivate when you paint over them. Here are some spots I wanted to touch up with Greyseer, and even though I applied multiple coats, the Blood Red Speedpaint keeps coming through, turning the Greyseer pink. I reached out to The Army Painter and they told me it is due to the composition of the medium and most prominent with Speedpaints containing a high amount of yellow pigments. It is a subtle difference between the primary use of contrast paints and washing. Normally, you’ll apply contrast paint over a light color primer. The contrast paints supply all the color, and give a highlight/dark finish. That said, I still religiously use Agrax Earthshade and Nuln Oil and even have a secret stash of 20 year old inks, washes and glazes from the old citadel range that I scored off craigslist. Nothing like a box full of classic 1990s and 2000s era paints. A bit of medium and some time on the shaker and they are good as new! Alternatively, paint a base coat of something like Citadel Cadian Flesh, which is a standard acrylic paint. Then take thinned down Guilliman Flesh Contrast, and wash it over the Cadian color. This gives you a much better skin tone in my opinion.Magic Blue is a little darker and more intense than Talassar Blue, but with a little thinning it would be very similar. Highlord Blue is a little lighter and more of a prussian blue than Ultramarines Blue, while Cloudburst Blue is very similar to Leviathan Blue. In terms of turquoise, The Army Painter only has a single colour, Plasmatic Bolt, which is similar to Aethermatic Blue, but much deeper and darker. Speedpainting describes sped-up recordings of the creation of an art piece, specifically a digital painting. In addition, most advertising networks offer you a way to opt out of targeted advertising. Vallejo is the newest entry into the Contrast alternatives with their XPress Color line. There are 24 paints available as I write this, which includes the base medium. So 23 colors + medium. More presumably to come. They come in 18ml dropper bottles.

Speed painting is an artistic technique where the artist has a limited time to finish the work. The time can vary, usually a duration is set from several minutes to a few hours. [1] [2] Unlike sketches, speed paintings may be considered "finished" after the time limit is up. If you thin this out, you can actually even use it to cover vehicles and give them amazing base coats without hardly any effort. If you have nice flat panels it works perfectly. However, if you have a spot with a lot of crevices, it loses some of the pizzaz. Assembly Line Painting: If you are painting multiple figures, this technique is fantastic. If you’re painting 5 orcs for example, you might start with painting all the skin green. One at a time. Then add leather boots to each. Then add steel paint to the axes. When painting with contrasts you want to paint with lots of paint on the brush. This is another thing that differs from how you paint with acrylics, where you want to apply multiple thin coats. Instead you want to put a bunch of contrast on the model and start moving it around. Generally my rule of thumb is it should be saturated but it shouldn’t be dripping off the brush and I should still see the bristles. If you’re painting and it’s looking streaky, don’t panic, get more paint on the brush and start reapplying.First things first, preparing the model. If you plan to one-coat a model, make sure you clean any seams, mold lines, or sprue tags because those will pop out hard when you use these paints. Once that’s done you’re gonna want to prime the miniature white. For details on how to prime, refer to our hobby 101 article on the topic . Speedpainted pieces both digital and traditional are considered by artists to be an excellent exhibition of the subjective skill of a painter, as the time constraint requires efficient rendering of form and detail and a deep understanding of their chosen medium to capture a complete, strong image, and leaves little time for noticing and correcting mistakes. My favorite brushes are either Rosemary and Co or Raphael sable brushes. For Contrast Paints I want a larger size brush, size 2 minimum, or size 3 preferably

Cobra Motor Paints – Why do you need Cobra Motor Paints? Cobra Motor Paints is a range of acrylic non-toxic colours, perfect for painting any area of the vehicle’s body, rims, tires, engines and interiors. They can be easily applied with both brush and airbrush, and have Don’t miss this special pricing on outstanding covering power while providing a very smooth and uniform matt finish. To provide the distinctive gloss of the bodywork, we have created a special lacquer formula with the accompanying catalyst and thinner. Cobra Motor lacquer offers the same glossy finish as your favourite vehicles. What are the advantages of the Cobra Motor range? • 1 hour drying time • 24-hour curing time • Easy application via brush and airbrush • Odourless • Acrylic and non-toxic • 30ml clear glass bottle • Wide colour range with 62 colours ready to apply to the model. All Speedpaints come with two high-grade, rust-proof stainless steel Mixing Balls already loaded in the bottle, making it easier for you to get the perfect consistency. With both Speedpaints and Contrast, you’ll get the best result when you apply them generously, wait a little while for them to settle, and then soak up any excess with a damp brush where too much paint has gathered. This way, the medium can do its job and you’ll get a smoother result and more pronounced shading. Don’t be afraid to combine techniques you’ve learned over time to get the model right where you want it. I have to admit that Contrast has changed my painting quite a bit, even though I never actually use it for painting whole miniatures as advertised. But to save time on organic textures and smaller details like all those pouches and belts that won’t catch your attention, they are fantastic. They’re also great for thinning into washes or glazes. I used Contrast glazes to shade my classic 2nd Edition Ultramarine, for example.

What is Speedpaint 2.0?

When using one-coat paints, start with the brightest colors and work your way towards the darker ones The far left of this model was primed Death Guard Green instead of White Scar. You’ll notice the left side is a bit less of a pure flesh tone than the right side If you read this The Army Painter Speedpaint review so far, you’ll have a good impression of Speedpaints strengths and weaknesses. But how can Speedpaints compete with the other One Coat painting solutions like Instant Colours from Scale 75 and Antithesis paints from Warcolours? I also missed a step (see? often) with my pictures and and did the Volupus Pink on the tentacles and the webbing between the fingers. You’ll notice the coverage here is good even though we’re going over a section we already painted. This is because we did those bright spots first! The new Speedpaints are initially available in the Mega Paint Set 2.0, which contains 50 paints, out on April 22 in 2023. A complete set and metallic paint set are following soon thereafter. In Summer there will also be a new starter set, and a Most Wanted set, which will have all of the original 24 Speedpaints but with the new formula.
