About this deal

PTC is a heating element that can be used to dry the filament before it is extruded. This means that the filament will not absorb moisture from the air, which can lead to clogging, jamming and many other problems.

PTC is an acronym for positive temperature coefficient. These heating elements are heating discs crafted from ceramic materials. Research has found that the heat produced by this technology is energy efficient, powerful, stable, and durable, making it especially applicable in compact spaces such as appliances. Current passes through the ceramic, causing it to heat up. The heat is then transferred to the highly conductive aluminum fins. These fins can transfer heat to the air through convection or they can be used with an internal fan to push air over them and out into the room. If more heat or higher temperatures are needed, more voltage or current is required. The energy consumed is determined by the available circuit voltages in the panel or device. Traditional electric heaters heat up slowly, requiring more and more energy to increase the temperature of the element as time goes on. When the electrical sensors sense that the maximum temperature or set temperature is reached, the current is cut off or restricted and the element begins to cool. When the temperature falls below the threshold, the element will begin to reheat all over again. Our 500 Watt PTC electric heating elements are intrinsically safe with self limiting capabilities and are the most efficient standard heating element. They have a maximum operating temperature of 70 degrees. They can never overheat and cut out should the rail or radiator run dry and can be used in both vertical and horizontal applications. The element will run up to its maximum temperature. Once this is achieved it will reduce the wattage consumption to maintain the rail temperature."

Note

The ceramic materials are doped using barium titanate in a laboratory to create the precise temperature threshold required. The heater can be designed for a specific application and temperature. PTC stands for Positive Temperature Coefficient, and it is a type of heating element that works by changing its resistance in response to changes in temperature. As the temperature of the PTC heating element increases, its resistance also increases. This means that it naturally regulates the temperature of the dry box, preventing it from overheating.

Specification

The second method uses a PTC heater instead of a thermocouple (or uses both together). This method has many advantages compared with conventional methods: it does not require calibration or adjustment before use; it does not require expensive equipment; it can be used under different operating conditions; it works continuously after power failure, etc.. Because PTC heater elements are self-limiting, they do not require extra sensors or switches. Instead, the heating element itself acts to limit heat output. As the temperature of the element rises, the current moving through the element is slowed at a proportional rate.
