I actually don't mind the sweetness of it, it goes a certain cool direction, but loses me at the medicinal, air freshener woodiness. this gets a 4 and not a 0 because the ingredients are quality and the longevity and sillage are way above average. But that smell is a must avoid imo. Today it’s freezing and snowing in England and I was going out and needed to walk a mile or 2 and I was looking for a scent to spray and my eyes went to this so o thought I’d give it another chance and sprayed 8 sprays on body and clothes . I would say it's more of a men's fragrance because of the woodiness, but it's very sweet, and considering the nature of this sort of oriental fragrances, it could very well be pulled off by a woman.Wore it for 2 days and I was angrily underwhelmed and I thought I had a copy , fake or just a bad bottle 6 sprays nothing just some mild woods BTW! Layering recommendations: Try this with Zara Rich Warm Addictive or Lattafa's Ana Abiyedh Rouge - they both make it a little more sweet and blend very amazingly together. <3 However, I opine it's of the good synthetic smells; rounded, smooth and pleasing. Nothing chemical or off-putting about it to my nose. Day 2- I have not smelled that cumin tinge I smelled at the initial spray. It seems a little less dusty/powdery and more sweet. Hoping it becomes even better after letting it sit a while. Growing on me :) To start off I want to go ahead and mention that Ameer Al Oudh smells nothing similar to 24 Gold of Scentstory. It's Ameer's sister Raghba which is the one who smells similar to 24 Gold.

Now here comes the challenging part: trying to give you a short solid review of this AMAZING fragrance. Perfect for outdoors in the cold and if your indoors just a couple of sprays will be all you need 9/10 I'm legit getting hungry, like when walking through the mall and smelling those candied almonds or fried donuts. 😁 This fragrance from far away hits my nose similarly. I've been wearing it every day for a week straight after I got it. And I know it's spring and I hoarded a buncha spring perfumes to specifically wear IN SPRING... but I'm too addicted to this one :') As said earlier, my fragrance isn't as it should be yet, but being reintroduced to half its pyramid did jiggle my olfactory memory. The only thing I get now is Oud and other wood, but once the balance is restored Intense Oud gave quite a nice scent on my skin. I remember a strong smoky woody perfume with hints of soft leather and a caramel-like accent that softens the strong oud and deepens the fragrance. I get the first half now and pretty much a double dose of it, since there's no softening touch.I don't know what it smells like notes-wise other than sweet, salty, smokey and roasted, because it's very synthetic-smelling. If you already own the Replica I'll carefully - cause not 100% - say that I think you could try out the Lattafa without having to fear for a clone in your collection. Whether they took BtF as inspiration or not, they both seem very much their own juice. They just happen to be both of the smoky-woody variety and mostly ideal in the cool & cold weather. Just got it today. Smoky powdery. The campfire,smores type scent. Didn't like it at first blast..in fact, for a moment I thought I smelled a cumin type smell. Armpitty,lol..thank God it went away pretty fast..anyway, enjoying it now. Just had to get my nose adjusted. After it had dried down a while, and finished evolving, I was left with something.. Wasn't sure where I had smelled it before. But some note I get in my old Tresor Midnight Rose. Going to have a bath before bed and spray it all over myself and sleep in this smoky,campfire cloud. I'll update my review if anything changes or develops further.It's a different scene, and it isn't as comforting nor is it as well rendered as By the Fireplace. It is, however, still very interesring in it's own right and there is plenty here to grab your attention and bring your nose into. It also performs better on my skin, so that is nice, but the opening is truly terrible. That campfire was started with lighter fluid, my friends. Do not smell this or be smelled in the first 15 minutes of wearing this. Seriously, it's bad. I almost washed it off and put in on my trade shelf hoping someone else might like it. Just give it a chance though, or consider rubbing it in to tamp out some of those top notes (Gasp), once the initial miasma of lighter fluid and cotton candy calms down it becomes something that is quite enjoyable, if not as breathtaking as By the Fireplace. It only seems to get better as it develops, changing drastically about 3 or 4 hours in. That said, BTF is one of the highest quality designers I've smelled out there, and while AAO can't meet that bar, it does smell verry verry pleasant. Good quality too, it certainly smells upper tier designer in smell. I was really pleasantly surprised by this. Also projects and performs pretty good too. Now, 24 hours after a single spray application, it still lingers as a skin scent. Top notes are agarwood (oud), cinnamon and nutmeg; middle notes are jasmine and sandalwood; base notes are musk, vanilla, guaiac wood, amber, and cedar. Depicting the strength of this lingering scent, this fragrance main oud note is Oudh from Cambodia which yields earthy and woody smoky notes.
