About this deal

Hideyuki Kikuchi's Vampire Hunter D Volume 3 adapts Demon Deathchase, the third Vampire Hunter D light novel. Music: Meh. I didn't notice this much, but it didn't make that much of an impression on me, either. So, we'll say passable. Campbell, Scott (March 4, 2010). "Vampire Hunter D Vol. 4". Active Anime. Archived from the original on December 27, 2013. Mina The Fair (name of a woman that supposedly lived ten thousand years ago, in the Land of Angles)

Story: Doris Lang, the daughter of a werewolf hunter, is out hunting werewolves one night when she is bitten by Count Magnus Lee, who then decides to make her his bride, marking her with his bite marks. She hires a vampire hunter known only as D, who she meets out in the middle of nowhere one day, offering him food and herself to take out the Count and save her from becoming his bride. Kikuchi personally selected Saiko Takaki, a doujinshi and graphic designer illustrator who has worked on numerous projects for the manga and game industries in Japan, to be the mangaka responsible for the adaptation of his successful novel series into manga form. As of April 2022, 40 novels have been published in the main series, with some novels comprising as many as four volumes. They have sold over 17 million copies worldwide, making Vampire Hunter D one of the best-selling book series in history. The series has also spawned anime, audio drama, manga, comic adaptations, a video game, as well as a short story collection, art books, and a supplemental guide book. Hideyuki Kikuchi's Vampire Hunter D Volume 6 adapts Pilgrimage of the Sacred and the Profane, the sixth Vampire Hunter D light novel. Enter D – a lone, mysterious Vampire Hunter sought out by the desperate Doris Lang. Bitten by the vampire lord Count Magnus Lee, Doris is destined to her eternal fate… Can D deliver her from her curse and bring her to salvation, or will she forever be part of the unholy dead?

There is some nudity in here, however, it's not really all that well done, and it's paired with images of death and gore and such that I'm sure that, by the process of association, if you showed this to kids, they could very easily never ever ever want to have sex ever.

Unlike vampires from traditional lore, the Nobility have the ability to reproduce sexually, although their offspring will permanently cease aging after reaching physical maturity, having inherited their vampire parent's immortality.Throughout their search, and after both characters save each other from seeming death at separate points, D has a conversation with Leila, where she reveals that she hunts vampires because a vampire killed her mother. D tells her that he hunts vampires as he has no other choice as a dhampir, and she can have a life that someone like him could never have; the life of a normal human. Leila, having not exactly taken the life of a normal human, instead being a vampire hunter, fears that no one will mourn her death when that time comes. She make a pact with D, that if either one of them survives, the survivor will bring flowers to the other's grave. D admits that he does not expect himself to survive the bounty hunt, after coming so close to death. I imagine most of you are here after watching the movie(s) - which you liked so you’re looking up if the source material is also as fun. Vampire Hunter D definitely fits the visual medium. The novels would be quite good as a script for another screen adaptation. As a stand-alone literature, the experience is not so great. Seiyuu: As with the music, I didn't notice them that much, but neither did they make that much of an impression on me, so, again, we'll say passable. The vampire hunter known only as D has been hired by a wealthy, dying man to find his daughter, who was kidnapped by the powerful vampire Lord Meyerling. Though humans speak well of Meyerling, the price on his head is too high for D to ignore and he sets out to save her before she can be turned into an undead creature of the night. In the nightmare world of 12090 A.D., finding Meyerling before he reaches the spaceport in the Clayborn States and gets off the planet will be hard enough, but D has more than just Meyerling to worry about. The dying man is taking no chances, and has also enlisted the Marcus family, a renegade clan of ruthless mercenaries who don't care who they kill as long as they get paid!

The writing is laughable. This guy is like Dan Brown... in third grade. Words like "vermilion" and "phosphorescent" abound. In 2010, it was reported in Japanese horror magazine Rue Morgue that Hideyuki Kikuchi was in talks with one of the producers for Capcom's Resident Evil video game series to develop a live-action Vampire Hunter D adaptation. [19] Reception [ edit ] Every village wants a Hunter-one of the warriors who have pledged their laser guns and their swords to the eradication of the Nobility. But some Hunters are better than others, and some bring their own kind of danger with them... She had a nice big butt on her. Sometimes this job has its perks." ― Left Hand, "Vampire Hunter D" [src]

Greco Rohman, son of the mayor, also wants Doris for himself. The same goes for the skilled figher Rei-Ginsei and his Fiend Corps. Both men are eager to eliminate D, as his skills and Doris' favor makes them see him as a threat. Doris knows she isn't the only one in trouble, her younger brother, Dan, is perceived as her weakness, and there are more than one person out there willing to use him as leverage against her.
