About this deal

She discovers that she has a tennis-champion boyfriend but can't remember him, is co-editor of the yearbook with a quirky guy who wears a smoking jacket, her parents are divorced, and she apparently hates her mother. If Naomi was together with Yuji at the end, it would've been a tragic ending because of her inability to improve his depression.

It is a good book, i read it quickly in about two days and liked it but sometimes Naomi was a bit annoying as were other characters but you always find annoying characters in books. Ace often sneaks into her room at night, but Naomi is not attracted to him and makes him sleep on the floor. Her most recent novel is Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, one of the best books of the year, according to the New York Times, the Washington Post, Time, Entertainment Weekly, the Atlantic, Oprah Daily, Slate, NPR, the Hollywood Reporter, and many other outlets. If this novel had been told from third-person point-of-view and I hadn't had to hear Naomi whine every thirty seconds, I might've actually enjoyed this book more. And then everyone in the fucking car is mad at her because she told him he should listen to a girl telling him to say stop? This film is recommended for everyone who wants to watch a drama with some comedy elements, and some subtle social commentary.

Sure, he tries annoying hard to get Naomi back into bed, which I find somewhat disturbing, but at least he's pretty nice. Ace ( what a name, of course he had to be good at tennis too) didn't care about anyone but himself and was so one-dimensional. She finds out later that her dad admits to emotionally cheating on her mom the entire time, and he even says in his book, "it must have been exhausting to be my wife". Overall: I had a good time reading it despite not caring about it that much (if you get what I mean). She can't remember how to drive or if the pills in her bedside table means she's not a virgin any more. By having Naomi lose her memory all at once rather than little by little, Zevin highlights the role forgetting plays in shaping a life.

Of course, my mind filled with a repertoire of suspense thrillers immediately went to "OMG, he tried to kill her", but no, Memoirs of a Teenage Amnesiac is not that kind of book. Honest and complex characterization grounds a thoughtful, suspenseful examination of memory and identity. After not enjoying Elsewhere, I was hesitant to read this book, but decided to go through with it anyway. The concept of losing one's memory allows the reader to wonder how they would cope if they forgot absolutely everything about themselves, contemplating on the essence of one's identity.
