About this deal

Make a list of three things you like, three things you like a lot, and three things you deeply love.

He serves as a Clinical Professor of Medicine at the University of California, San Diego, and hosts the podcast Daily Breath. By learning to live in the light, you deliberately and consciously accept your true self as a being of infinite possibilities, unfettered by worry or self-doubt. Harmony Publishing for generously providing me with this fantastic ARC in exchange for a fair and honest review.

Anger is a good one to begin with, because, along with fear, it is one of the two basic negative emotions. In short, Week 1 is about the story we are living and how to create a better story, one that reflects the levels of the self that are closer to our source. The second half probably has photos of the various yoga poses which I obviously can’t see in an audiobook. Royal Yoga is the highest and most important of the yoga traditions—an all-embracing path to personal transformation that reaches beyond any approach to wellness and healing that exists today. Yama asks you to be responsible for your anger, not to pass it along, unleash it on the unwary, or channel it as blame toward another.

Whatever you are doing to enhance your life, Royal Yoga can bring you more of everything you want; it brings every experience, no matter how small, into the light. Known as a prolific author of eighty books books with twenty-two New York Times best sellers in both fiction and non-fiction, his works have been published in more than forty-three languages. I interpret that to mean that I can be patient with myself, and there is comfort in knowing that the more that I do it the more ingrained in my memory it will all be. My favorite part is that these can be done on my own, in the comfort of my own home, and knowing that I will get stronger with practice. Each week focuses on a different stage of transformation, presented as themes such as Social Intelligence and Emotional Intelligence. With new insights on social and emotional intelligence, the power of attention, body awareness, breathing, wholeness, and transcendence, and with dozens of specially commissioned illustrations of yoga poses (accessible for all skill levels, from beginner to enthusiast), Living in the Light provides the ultimate guide to your exciting, bright, and enlightening future. No matter what you happen to be doing or thinking, you are floating at some level of samadhi, present awareness. Chopra offers inspiration and shares his sense of what it means to be “living in the light,” while Platt-Finger shows readers many yoga poses. I’m currently loving yoga/ meditation books with this style of layout, and it’s been beneficial to someone with learning disabilities and being in yoga teaching school.

I would have liked more details on the Chakras and the Bandhas from the second author and liked the description of each of the poses. The author, Chopra walks through each of 8 limbs of Yoga, offering Mantras and exercises to help fulfill each of the limbs. Inner forces are made visible, and it is these inner forces that dictate what happens to your social self, the self you show the world. You are the one who gives them meaning, and therefore the whole world as you perceive it has meaning. Right living in Yoga means “bringing in the light of awareness to decrease the things that block fulfillment. She currently lives in Boca Raton, Florida with her husband, Yogiraj Alan Finger, her daughter Satya, and her dogs Malcolm and Thomas. Chopra as "one of the top 100 heroes and icons of the century and credits him as "the poet-prophet of alternative medicine. Chopra have collaborated on several projects including “Finding Connection Through Yoga” with Yoga Journal and “Radical Being” with Udemy.

I initially read the book over a few days and I look forward to going back and implementing it as a daily practice over the next 6 weeks. Each pose includes a drawing or two, an overview, how-to, benefits, therapeutic applications, and helpful tips, including cautions and modifications.

In the Second Part, of this wonderful book, I believe, is where his Co-Author, Sarah Platt-Finger gives illustrations of Yoga Poses, followed by a written Overview of each yoga pose.
