at about 51% the story very suddenly changes pace and abandons almost all of the characters from the first half of the book which was pretty off putting. The Raven Mysteries are full of humour and mad-cap action, which is quite different from your novels for older readers.

With the body count rising, DI Caroline Hills and DS Dexter Antoine need to uncover the link before more innocent people die.Claire continues to come into her own in this book, showing more courage and spunk than you would expect in the circumstances they find themselves in. Many of your novels are inspired by history and by myth and legend - have these areas always been a fascination of yours since childhood and if so how did this passion come about? Seriously, just when you think things couldn't get any worse for the guys, it does - in bucket loads. There’s zero follow-up, which is fine if they’re not important to the story, but if they’re not important about the story why focus on them for the first 50-55% of the book? It skews a little more urban fantasy but is also jam-packed full of clan intrigue and angst and love and betrayal.
The latter in particular is such a cool mix of a classic story in a contemporary setting, which really worked perfectly for this book. but when you find yourself falling for the heir apparent of your family's greatest rivals, your world is shaken to its foundations. I liked their chemistry and I thought Hazel as a character was strong in a way that characters sometimes lack. Any images belonging to the author should be regarded in the same way as the previously mentioned written content and should not be used without permission. a must read, anyone will enjoy this book, something for everyone of all ages i love these book, they are way better than the twilight books more in them.The book picks up from Fade Out with Claire and her friends owing a debt to Morley, one of the less than pleasant vampires (if there is such a thing as a pleasant vampire! Surprisingly, when the passes finally arrive all is not as it should be – the passes are actually, four ‘get out of town’ passes for Claire, Eve, Shane and Michael to go to Dallas and take part in a record demo for Michael. And I honestly am so confused how the author plans to turn this into a “why choose” because everything feels so disconnected. Cover: I think that by now we all know that Lauren Henderson doesn't really make her covers relate a whole lot to her books as a whole. I'm not opposed to a "no plot just vibes" book for a good pick-me-up where I can go along for the ride and enjoy a good time but this is definitely leaning towards the "no plot no vibes" side.
