About this deal

These novels have proved great favourites with reading groups, causing readers to squirm with mingled horror and delight as she peels away the layers in all too familiar family relationships, exposing the tangled threads and conflicts beneath. Plagued by nightmares and struggling with motherhood, Mia becomes increasingly obsessed with the terrible crimes that happened in what was to be their new home. Linda’s Book Bag readers should note that they may unsubscribe at any point from following the blog. In the wake of their traumatic discovery, the baby arrives and Mia can't shake her fixation with the monstrous crimes that happened right above them. The discoveries are shocking, the stuff of nightmares, and it’s as Mia delves deeper that more revelations are revealed.

Mia and Finn are busy turning a derelict house into their dream home when Mia unexpectedly falls pregnant. But just when they think the house is ready, Mia discovers a shocking message scored into a skirting board: I WILL SAVE THEM FROM THE ATTIC .

From a dramatic prologue right through to the jaw dropping finale, Keep It In The Family is a fast paced, twisty and disturbing read that I found myself unable to put down. In this chilling novel from bestselling author John Marrs, a young couple’s house hides terrible secrets―and not all of them are confined to the past.

Rather, John Marrs illustrates to perfection the warping of values, how we justify our actions and the deep potential for evil that exists in the most unsullied of characters. What’s so unnerving is that Keep It In The Family explores really positive themes like love, loyalty, the desire to protect the innocent, and, obviously, family relationships, but this is no joyous, uplifting read. Keep It in the Family is the type of story that allows you to form theories, opinions and impressions in relation to the events this tale.

In this thrilling novel from bestselling author John Marrs, a young couple's house hides terrible secrets--and not all of them are confined to the past. Contains three short stories, “William Darling” (1-18), “You Don’t Look Very Poorly” (19-36), and “Fight the Good Fight” (37-57).I am not responsible for the republishing of the content found on this blog on other Web sites or media without my permission. I felt most drawn to Mia, my heart going out to her in particular after the events at the end of part one. Following the clue up into the eaves, the couple make a gruesome discovery: their dream home was once a house of horrors. By giving each of them a voice we are able to really get inside their minds and discover who they are.

In fact, I’d even go so far as to say that through his storytelling in Keep It In The Family, John Marrs has made me question my own sanity and actions. Mia is particularly disturbed by the dark history of her home and she is compelled to find out more about the past. As Mia and Finn try to turn their attention to their new baby, the trauma of what occurred under their roof still haunts them. Even when I’d guessed correctly I discovered there were yet more crazy antics to come as this person toyed with their victims further and prolonged their torment with glee. In this thrilling novel from bestselling author John Marrs, a young couple’s house hides terrible secrets—and not all of them are confined to the past.I could’ve given this book a higher rating but I docked some points for the fact it was more difficult to read than it should’ve been. It's perhaps not surprising that Anne has openly expressed astonishment at the fact that murder in the domestic setting is not even more common. Secrecy shrouds the mystery of the attic, but when shards of a dark truth start to emerge, Mia realises the danger is terrifyingly present. I’m a huge fan of John Marrs – both as a man and an author – so I couldn’t be more delighted than to participate in this blog tour for his latest book, Keep It In The Family. She is prepared to do anything to protect her family--but will the previous tenants stop her from discovering their secret?
