On the eighth episode of Season 6 of The Walking Dead, during the first scene, four Minimates action figures of the characters Invincible, Allen the Alien, Atom Eve, and Omni-Man are shown in Sam Anderson's room. Half-human, half-alien teenager gets superpowers, dons a spandex suit, joins a team of teenagers (aptly named Teen Team), and saves the world. After all, a good superhero story doesn't have to have a great start, it can do well enough without one, and from what I've heard it's possible the story gets better.

Mark Grayson is just like most everyone else his age-except for the fact that his father is Omni-Man, the most powerful superhero on the planet. Giddy with excitement, Mark dons his new costume and makes his official debut as Invincible by foiling an armed robbery in his city. The property has also been extended into a blockbuster game franchise, licensing business and ongoing publishing success. In fact, it seemed almost *too* simple to intensely scrutinize in this review – kind of like I didn't have enough tangible material at my disposal to tear up.Along with childhood friend Tony Moore, Kirkman created Battle Pope which was published in late 2001. shows up for dinner after battling aliens from another dimension, an abduction that took place in the background of a panel in the penultimate issue (or chapter, given this is the trade paperback), and he shows up to the dinner table looking disheveled, explaining he had to lead a fight against aliens and only just managed to escape, and so on. The show adaptation blows the comic completely out of the water when it comes to these first issues. Invincible is an American comic book series written by Robert Kirkman, illustrated by Cory Walker and Ryan Ottley, and published by Image Comics. To celebrate INVINCIBLE’s landmark 20th anniversary, the first 48 issues of the greatest superhero comic in the universe are being collected into one massive hardcover edition-exclusive to the direct market!

So I'm re-reading this from over a decade ago and kicking myself for not continuing on much further than this -- back then. Tech Jacket was first collected as a digest-sized, black and white graphic novel and later reissued in regular sized, full color and a cover scheme similar to Kirkman's other trade paper backs. There's a charming feel about the book , with a look into a adolescent boy dealing with normal high school stuff and in the mean time acquiring super powers and starting his new job as the amateur superhero. In The Astounding Wolf-Man, Art, Invincible's tailor, appeared, designing the title character's costume. In a related note, Bulletproof was one of the proposed names for the title character before the series saw print.For instance, Mark is a typical teenage boy, Deborah is a loving mom, Nolan is a tough and competent dad, and Eve is a pretty girl. Son of Omni Man, Mark Grayson finally gets his own super powers, his inherited super powers, and as he starts to learn how to use them he gets to hear is family's story, meets other powered teens, fights crime, teams-up with his dad and deals with an alien (Flaxan) invasion! Kirkman also serves as consulting producer of The Talking Dead, the popular talk show hosted by Chris Hardwick that deep dives into each week's episode of both The Walking Dead and its companion series Fear the Walking Dead.

Changed from the time he spent in the Flaxan dimension, he becomes an antagonist to Invincible and other heroes who oppose him. Which sounds okay at first, but how do you follow in your father's footsteps when you know you will never live up to his standards? Along the way he runs into a teen superhero group too, has his first battles and meet his first villain. The first season of the show has done a great job of fixing all of that and filling in a lot of the gaps of the source material.Kirkman is also the Chief Operations Officer and Partner at Image Comics and a Chairman at Skybound Entertainment.
