Ilegal Mezcal helped introduce the world to aged mezcal with our Reposado and Añejo expressions, and our new Limited Edition 7 Year Añejo further expands our showcasing of barrel aged innovation and artisanal craft. A carefully composed blend of sweet and smoky notes - green peppers, sooty smoke and freshly baked agave. Our aged mezcals are rested in a combination of new and used American oak, medium char barrels, a unique and complex taste for those who enjoy sipping spirits. Despite the foul offensive odor the taste was very weak and mostly flavorless with just an aftertaste of white granulated sugar and peroxide.

Its aroma are fresh and youthful, with fresh flowers, peppermint and tobacco notes all coming through.Aromatic and awash with the wonderful sweetness of 100% blue agave, Arette Anejo has pepperiness which keeps you sipping and deliciously light vanilla notes tempting you to have just one more glass. Serving Suggestions: This is a great introduction to mezcal, so neat is the way to go – but it makes for an intriguing comparison with a traditional Tequila margarita, where that earthy smoke really cuts through. Carriers will not leave packages containing alcohol unattended, even if you have a signature on file. This mezcal is delicious served on ice or as a component in a cocktail such as a twist on the classic Negroni. Ilegal Anejo spends time in both French and American oak casks, delivering a unique flavour profile which you’ll definitely enjoy.

Some areas of Scotland are charged at a higher rate, including Scottish Highlands, Islands and Northern Ireland. This is a very nice mezcal, it really depends on the batch, with the higher batches, they have got better and it’s worth a second look. The result is a distinct flavour profile, where the agave flavour is complimented rather than dominated by subtle smoky aromas and flavours.The agaves are cooked in an earthen pit lined with river stones and then crushed with a tahona wheel and naturally fermented.

Produced in Oaxaca, Ilegal Joven is a young Mezcal which has the distinctive flavour of roasted agave and earthy tones which help it stand out from the crowd. Handcrafted in small batches by fourth-generation mezcaleros, mezcals are all made with perfectly ripe, sustainable Espadín agave, double distilled in the Santiago Matatlan Valley of Oaxaca, Mexico.

The process is an art form and the result is always a beautifully balanced spirit with just a kiss of smoke, making it ideal for cocktails or as a sipping spirit. Like Tequila, mezcal can be unaged (‘joven’ or ‘young’), or aged in wood for months or sometimes years. Often characterised as the lawless cousin of Tequila, mezcal is in fact a legally regulated spirit found in various parts of Mexico, but most famously in the southern state of Oaxaca.
