About this deal

Not so in this case, for the worthy progenitor of our race, first to cross the Atlantic Ocean, with whom, for lack of earlier information, our genealogy must begin, was a man of lowly origin and humble occupation. Even if a reader isn't a fan of Campbell's, his behind the scenes look at a bit actor's life, director's life, television vs film actor's life, and the PROCESS of making film and television productions is fascinating.

He made lists of everything: untrustworthy people (Don and I were often on it), his weekly income from 1959 through 1967 (in cents), and secret hand-to-hand combat routines. The only downside is that this book was written well before "Burn Notice" took off and became a bit of a hit. He is best known for his starring role as Ash in the Evil Dead trilogy of horror/slapstick movies, and has since become a B-movie icon. I couldn't really rate this 5 stars though, because there were some parts of it that I was just like "Ehhh, ok then" about - like a lot of the stuff about his childhood with his brothers, which was funny at times, but didn't really interest me much. The book's plot involves him (depicted in a comical way) as the main character struggling to make it into the world of A-list movies. Campbell produced the 2013 remake of The Evil Dead, along with Raimi and Rob Tapert, appearing in the movie's post-credits scene in a cameo role with the expectation he would reprise that role in Army of Darkness 2. It describes Campbell's career to date as an actor in low-budget movies and television, providing his insight into " Blue-Collar Hollywood". Also, Campbell's career and commentary covers the surprisingly very different world of television (Hercules, Xena). If Chins Could Kill is my story, and I invite you to ride with me through the choppy waters of blue collar Hollywood.

With tireless good humor and biting wit, the autobiography of the unlikely star of the legendary Evil Dead movies describes how a combination of ambition and disappointment, fame and anonymity have led him to lead a unique double life as a cult movie icon and ordinary man.You can change your choices at any time by visiting Cookie preferences, as described in the Cookie notice. Since 2014, the Bruce Campbell Horror Film Festival, narrated and organized by Campbell, was held in the Muvico Theater in Rosemont, Illinois. At the time of writing this review, the podcast has just covered Army of Darkness (or Bruce Campbell vs. Bruce Campbell is like Stephen King in that the thing that he's best known and most loved for happened super early in his career.
