About this deal

The layout is a little clumsy but I have the unedited version, so hopefully that gets cleaned up in the final version. There are intense natural forces at play in your body that oversees your hunger levels and cravings! Fortunately the author explains in detail but it can be a bit overwhelming and I feel like I'll need to consult back with the book. Amy Shah's book is not just an informative read; it's a practical guide that empowers readers to take control of their health.

I also felt a lot of the information was written out in a really long-winded way and I found it boring and hard to read.Shah constructs a comprehensive 5-step plan grounded in understanding the biological forces influencing our relationship with food.

They were white-knuckling it through yet another diet plan, only to feel depleted, frustrated, and really effing hungry. This book is so good that I went and bought the Kindle version of this, after I listened to the audio version via the Libby app (and I also purchased Shah's other book, Why Am I So Effing Tired? Both books are on the free Libby app, but both were so good that I ended up purchasing both on Kindle b/c I was taking so many notes--and with Kindle--it's easier to just highlight directly from text. Shah wants you to focus on making yourself healthy and happy first by meeting your basic nutritional needs. I dare you to play a drinking game every time you see the word "hack" or her trying to sell her other books, or saying nothing is our fault, etc.In an industry oversaturated with health and diet advice, Dr Amy Shah cuts through the noise with her newest book, I'm So Effing Hungry. I’m glad I read it and it makes me want to read more like this- about the science of food and dieting etc. I also learned a lot about insulin and diabetes and how sugary foods has that domino effect that overloads your body that results in the breakdown of body functions that lead to diabetes. I also liked that this book focused on the science behind hunger and cravings and how to work around them. I understand that we live in an extremely sensitive culture where no one likes to take responsibility, but c'mon!

I thought this book did a great job of explaining gut health and how to reduce/eliminate sugar cravings. It's a great theory, and there's a lot of power given back to the individual to control their own destiny. Acknowledging the struggles of obtaining sufficient protein solely from plant sources, the author, predominantly plant-based herself, offers a refreshing perspective. If you are a caregiver and don't have hours in your day that are your own to exercise, there's not a lot of help here. Complete with more than thirty delicious recipes and peppered with easy Hunger Hacks and Cravings Crushers—like eating walnuts to reduce hunger and getting direct sunlight first thing in the morning—I’m So Effing Hungry is a complete guide to help you reframe decades-old dieting patterns and stop fighting the scale.Rather, she is targeting people's feeling that they don't feel in control of their eating and are helpless to stop it. Drawing on the emerging science of psychobiotics--healthy gut bacteria that help improve mood and regulate hunger, weight, and cravings--Dr. It's interesting to see some other reviews critiquing the book's "cliche" advice: eat more whole nutrient-dense foods, gets good sleep, and exercise.
