The cups have an inverted teardrop/avocado shape where it is wider at the top than the bottom with these huge plush absolutely gorgeous earcups, mine have stayed relatively stiff compared to my Anandas, but given I’ve had the Anandas for 2 years I’m sure these will soften up after more than 6 months. HiFi Man has designed the XS headphone’s headband to offer maximum comfort, lightweight and ergonomic for hours of listening pleasure. Its sends just the left channel to both sides of headphone A and the right channel to both sides of headphone B.

Starting off with the design of the Edition XS’, these are very similar in design to the Anandas, except with a more traditional padded headband, and it is thick , I personally prefer the “floating” headband of the Anandas, but most people I let try the Edition Xs’ and the Anandas prefer the Edition Xs band.

I’m no stranger to HiFiMAN gear, I’ve tried out lots of their stuff, so when I was sent the Edition Xs’ I was shocked to find that, despite their great specs, to me, they just felt kind of lifeless, technical competency doesn’t always align with great experience, especially with something as subjective as audio, read on to see more. They mention that the soundstage is excellent, imaging is well, and the trebles have a very airy quality to them that extends very loudly and clearly.I'm used to use a DT770, and to be honest, i dont have the feeling this is a step up in sound quality. Unlike the sound waves created by a conventional magnet, the special shape of Stealth Magnets enables the waves to pass through the magnets without generating interference. Most family/friends are not sure about the look of the headphones - but they all agree on the sound.
