About this deal

I connected this to the MIDI IN on my TD-6 and found that they perfectly triggered the snare, tom 1, tom2, open hi-hat, crash 1 and kick drum. I don't think you're going to find anything expandable and solidly built that meets your specifications though, at least not in the realm of toy instruments.

When I first finished the assemblies in the previous step I placed the piezos in the drum head(s) under pressure. After that we headed to a hexagonal room, or better stay a fancy music studio, with six drum stations and the fun begun. In Guitar Hero 5, Band Hero, and Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock, freeforms no longer grant extra points but can raise the Rock Meter.

I tested the newly minted solder joints and noted a vast improvement but still not quite what I was expecting. The Guitar Hero World Tour drum kit has a few redeeming qualities, but it is ultimately not worth the capital spent. I have changed the batteries several times, even putting in batteries straight from an opened-that-minute pack, and nothing. There are different songs to play, various genres, some are slower and easier, some are fast and more challenging.

We've previously done escape rooms, crazy golf, bowling, etc but this was by far the most entertaining, fun, original and enjoyable activity we have done. Percussionists are picky—even the ones playing on a plastic set in their living rooms in sync to "notes" displayed on their TVs. I loaded up Sennheiser's DrumMic'a and suddenly this toy-looking little thing sounds like a real drum kit.But all my fears proved completely groundless, and I had an amazing experience when visiting Beatorbit with my friends. The drum pads are much, much quieter and have a great rebound to them (this is coming from what I've heard of it; I have not personally played on this drum set).

I know that I'm not going to get Roland quality performance out of these "toys," but I've seen some pretty decent youtubes of people playing around with their Rockband kits in Garageband. Not noticed any latency myself but I'm not a proper drummer and just bought it to bash some beats out on for fun. In terms of the Band Hero vs Guitar Hero World Tour drums, the PS2/PS3/Xbox 360 bundles of Band Hero include a drum set that looks identical to the GHWT drum set.

We've had ample time with the Rock Band kit, but now we're taking a look at Guitar Hero's take on drums; does it live up to its hype? Three drum pads, two raised cymbals and non-slip moveable kick pedal deliver a more authentic drummer experience.
