About this deal
My love for this book goes beyond words and deep inside, i guess it'll always be my favourite novel seeing that it was the first one I read.
Her spirit lives on in her books and she is remembered as one of the most-loved and celebrated children's authors. These are probably her most famous works, though it is interesting to note that she did churn out an awful lot of books using other characters and settings. Apart from breaks to play golf and spend time with her children, Enid's working week was consumed with writing new stories, correcting proofs and answering the hundreds of letters she was, by now, receiving weekly. The main characters are Jo, Bessie and Fanny (updated in recent revisions to Joe, Beth and Frannie), who are three siblings.
Although the contents of Blyton books are also studied and analyzed to the last word their number one purpose is to supply reading entertainment to the present crop of kiddies who are the future of the planet.Whiskers the brownie, Barny the Barn Owl, the cute squirrel who collected the cushions, the 3 bears and Goldilocks, the evil magical snowman etc. A promise is made — the kids will bring some toffee with them next time they climb the tree and this is accepted. I am not saying that this didn't exist long ago during Enid Blyton's time, but that it wasn't something that people spoke about.
