About this deal

A must-have for every forward-thinking person who wants the next generation to inherit a world to be proud of. The three monkeys constantly wonder if maybe they could just get a little closer to the mangoes, maybe have a bite, maybe more, but while the monkeys constantly push their luck, eventually danger does appear in the form of the tigers. delivers a fresh and captivating tale, weaving a great narrative that resonates with the curiosity and imagination of twins. Your selection was perfect for our children and what really made the difference was your ability to engage with each child, discuss their interests and help them to choose a suitable book based on your extensive knowledge of the books you were selling. I like how simple this story is and how the monkeys end up, hopefully, learning a valuable lesson, although the funny ending with a bit of a twist makes you wonder if they actually did!

With his bold, exquisite artwork, Oliver Jeffers starts at the dawn of humankind following people on their journey from then until now, and then offers the reader a challenge: where do we go from here? Actually, this turned out to be quite a productive line of thinking because as well as this story I also came up with two other potential stories which I hope to shape up enough to publish over the next while. Each card is blank for your own message, and contains a small paragraph on the reverse with Daniel's creative thinking behind the image. I like how this important message is wrapped into the story and how this can lead to some discussion with children on this topic too. Therefore, as little monkey scrambles ‘ down, down, down, all the way down to the GROUND‘, we anticipate tiger trouble. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. I love Haughton’s use of colour in this book, the monkeys are a contrast to the bright reddish world of their jungle and I love how you can see the expression on their faces which are especially funny when they are wondering if maybe something will be okay.

With heavy suspense, daring and our growing anticipation, we watch the three little monkeys abandon all sensible warnings about TIGERS! This experience has been fantastic primarily for the children, the school and also for me (professionally).

The illustrations are all so engaging and simple and there’s even one special one whick I really love which requires you to turn the book on its side to view it properly! If you are under 16, please obtain your parent/guardian’s permission before submitting or ask your parent/guardian to submit on your behalf. But while waiting in the tree the three monkeys get hungry and they decide that maybe it’s okay to just look at the mangos. Illustrated in his instantly recognisable style, Oliver Jeffers's exploration of the state of the world today is insightful, moving and powerful.

Throughout the book, we read white, printed text and look forward to the changes of direction, zoom and background. Since that reading I emphasised the hiding tigers more and made an extra spread in the build up because the kids really screamed with excitement when they saw the tigers. The story begins with the adult monkey warning three little monkeys not to go down to the mango tree because there are ‘tigers down there’The very thought of mangoes of course prompts the monkeys to think more about them and how delicious they are and then finally to go ‘and look at the mangoes’. Yesterday a parent came over to tell me how impressed she was by the book fair and that you did a fabulous job of selling the books to the children first. The story is so fun and simple but is filled with some great repetition which kids will enjoy and although the story isn’t too complex it still carries and teaches an important lesson about the importance of listening to warnings and also that danger can sometimes be lurking even when you think it is safe.

Storia semplicissima, breve e ripetitiva, che coinvolge i più piccoli e diverte ancora i più grandi: è piaciuto anche a mia figlia di 6 anni, per la quale avevamo iniziato la collezione quando di anni ne aveva 2. A spectacular collection of four much-loved modern classics from the multi award-winning, internationally best-selling picture book creator, Oliver Jeffers, along with a captivating behind-the-scenes look at the making of each in four fascinating sketchbook sections. It operates as a non profit and aims to connect the worlds best designers with fair trade organisations.

The way to best do that it seemed to me was by introducing the tigers to the audience at the start and show more and more signs of them getting closer whilst the monkeys are unaware.
