About this deal

Don’t be tempted by a moisturiser with SPF in it; you’re being lured into a false sense of security.

Whether you are a skincare pro or overwhelmed by information, The New Edit covers where to start, how to build a routine, ingredients to look for and things to avoid, whatever your age, skin concerns or budget. Offering UVA and UVB protection without the white cast, it absorbs quickly but is still easy to rub in and doesn’t appear shiny. I would highly recommend this book for its no-nonsense approach to anyone and everyone to keep look after their skin.

When I'm not performing on stage, which requires heavy makeup, I tend to favor a more natural look and give my skin a rest, but even if I'm only wearing tinted moisturizer, mascara, and lip gloss, my skin is still being nourished by the toners, serums, and other products I've used before I put on my "minimalist's palette" of makeup. I’d say this is the best beauty book I’ve ever read and would highly recommend to anyone interested in beauty. The last chapter also briefly explain the most common ingredients, and how to read an ingredients label to avoid falling in marketing slogans.

It's kind of obvious when you think about it but it's one of those things that unless someone teaches you then you don't know. That said, I think facial massage is good if it comes to relieving tensions in the muscles in your face. I’ve already learned a few new things I wasn’t aware of, and I can see myself referring to this book on a regular basis. Whether you're a beginner in the skincare world or a seasoned skincare nerd, this book will be a delight to read for everyone, regardless of their skincare knowledge.Such fantastic dry British wit adds lots of laughs and overall, this book will make anyone who is interested in the beauty industry a happier and much smarter person. I received Caroline's book for Christmas last year I think and learnt so much from it and my skin has changed a lot since then. You can use this book as a reference book, for example, I wanted to add a facial mist to my routine I simply went to that section in the book to understand the benefits and then had a look at some of the ones suggested in that section! com) which contains five potent AHAs and BHAs including salicylic, lactic and glycolic acids in a simple wipe. I was surprised at how much I got out of this book - I considered myself fairly well versed in the realm of skincare however since reading I've added a few tweaks in my routine that have changed the game!

Hirons describes moisturiser as your coat, adding that overlooking it is like “leaving the house butt naked”. We never thought to leave our skin damp after cleansing, but now we’ll never bother to pat dry again. What really annoyed me is a small section where Caroline tells us not to whinge about our aging skin and embrace it, but at the same time throughout the whole book she talks about fillers and Botox.

I found particularly useful the mentions on how much product we should apply, as sometimes it's not too clear. Dairy takes a cute calf into a cow in under a year”, it’s not good for you and you need to take your supplements. Could literally help you tailor your routine for your skin type, skin condition and age or what you're wanting to achieve.
