Perhaps the most popular 2000 AD artist of all time, Brian Bolland’s clean-line style and meticulous attention to detail ensure that his artwork on strips including Dan Dare, Future Shocks, Judge Dredd and Walter the Wobot looks as fresh today as it did when first published.

With both versions of the Judge Dredd by Brian Bolland Apex Edition now sold out ( though with very limited extras launching on 2000AD. So many of these images were truly iconic that I didn’t think anybody would object to their inclusions. In selected cases, however, Bolland would ask for ideas, and in one specific case " Shelly [Roeberg], the editor.In 1971, his friend Dave Harwood entered printed mass production with his RDH Comix, for which Bolland provided a cover (featuring Norwich Cathedral). The front endpaper is quite blurry, while the back endpaper is exceptionally clear for its enlargement. Bolland created cover artwork for the Animal Man, Wonder Woman, and Batman: Gotham Knights superhero comic book series. Brian Bolland is one of the definitive Judge Dredd artists and you can now pick up this classic T-shirt design from the 1980s bearing his vision of the Lawman of the Future!

In 2006's The Art of Brian Bolland, he does suggest that "I trace my mild bondage fetish back to a book of Bible stories that must have been given to my father as a Sunday school gift when he was a child," wherein "was a picture of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednigo [sic].
