With aspects of Howl's Moving Castle and even a touch of Harry Potter, this story has so much more then just a Beast trying to get a Beauty to fall in love with him. Sadly it is a trilogy so be prepared to be drawn in where you are counting the days until the next one.

Lisane and Rhaim's story is dark with a slow burn build up that is utterly frustrating and fantastic all at the same time! Surprisingly of my favorite elements of the story was the plot against the Deathless and the unique magics that each mage possessed. I read this because it was in a BookTok clip for “books where villains gets the girl,” but I should have realized at the time it had only had 500 reviews. And so, when a group of soldiers brought a bound and drugged woman to my doorstep, to bribe me to fight in their war, and pulled the bag off of her head and I saw her there—the woman from the vision at my Ascension, and who has haunted my dreams ever since—I knew it was the beginning of my end.

These training sessions are random, most happening because Rhaim says he needs to know he can trust her before teaching magic… which to me is a really unusual way to figure that out. He is a Dominant male and has is eyes set into exploring Lisiane ‘s submission by mastering her body.

I needed space—he was everything I hated and he made me hurt—but somehow he also made me magical, and I didn’t understand. I loved this author's writing style and omg, that ending was WILD; I will absolutely be continuing with this series! So when Lisane is dumped on him, he knows his days are numbered because she’s the woman from his vision.

Bend Her is a retelling of Beauty and the Beast, and it’s so fresh and imaginative, I don’t even know how to explain. The author had been posting prints on Instagram of the characters and I really thought it was going to be deliciously steamy, so I was a little disappointed.In Bend Her, they keep referencing previous events but their opinion about the event changes throughout the book.
