About this deal

The comfort zone has never been a space that JP McMahon likes to dwell in and is planning Food On the Edge 2021.

We had been involved with the Peter McVerry Trust for several years and had been looking for a project that would make an impact in supporting their work. Having started cooking at l’Ecrivain with Derry Clarke, Anna has spent the last 14 years in London working for celebrated chefs Philip Howard, Shane Osborne and Gordon Ramsay. Michaels, former MasterChef semifinalist, manages to craft one surprising and sensational recipe after another.Hailing from Tallaght in Dublin, Executive Head Chef and owner Anna Haugh has been cooking professionally for almost 20 years. What it means to eat like a true resident of the Mediterranean with meals that focus on coaxing the best results out of simple, quality ingredients.

Biography: Anna Haugh was born in Dublin in the 80s, and has trained and worked as a professional chef for 20 years. Included in this book, alongside the wonderful recipes, are stories from some of the people we have supported out of homelessness – what their new home means to them and how it has changed their lives. Founded by Oli Coles and Amelia Wix in March 2020, Hospitality for Heroes set out to ensure NHS workers across London received an ongoing supply of free, comforting and nutritious meals. After establishing herself at restaurants including London’s Pied à Terre and Paris’ Hotel Lotti, she helped launch Gordon Ramsay’s London House restaurant, acting as its first head chef. Last year Peter McVerry Trust supported over 12,000 people in towns and cities across the country and gave over 900 people the key to their own home.Anna has worked on numerous television shows for the BBC, she is the resident chef on the breakfast show Morning Live, often appears as a chef and host on Saturday Kitchen and was a new Masterchef: The Professionals Judge for 2022. In May 2019, she founded Myrtle Restaurant in Chelsea, London, which focuses on fantastic Irish recipes, produce and talent. The resilience of our industry is testament to the support we give each other and the learnings we take from each other.

Another great show featuring a couple of recipes from my latest book CANNED – lots of fun with Alison and Dermot! She is also a regular chef on Morning Live and Saturday Kitchen for the BBC and has appeared on If These Meals Could Talk. Creating canned food recipes, content and various duties Theo looks forward to spreading the word on using canned ingredients as part of our staple diet. Anna Haugh was born in Dublin in the 80s, and has trained and worked as a professional chef for 20 years. In this, her debut cookbook, she shares 85 recipes that are as straightforward as they are delicious, such as Braised beef cheeks with sweet potato and basil crush, Dad’s fish pie from Howth, Vegan pulled pork, and Guinness chocolate cake.

The basis of the request was that their contributions would serve to provide a global record of a particularly challenging time while allowing hope to shine on the future and the next generation of young cooks, chefs, farmers and food activists. Highlights include Truman Capote’s ‘Favorite Supper For Two’ (baked potatoes with caviar and a bottle of champagne, each).
