About this deal

This book chronicles his rise from a small house alongside the Govan shipbuilding yard to the stairs of Hampden Park as a player, the pitch of Ibrox as a centre forward for his beloved Glasgow Rangers, to behind the counter at his own pub "Fergie's", to Gothenburg where a Scottish side beat the mighty Real Madrid to win the European Cup and finally to the Camp Nou, where Solskjaer won it to make Sir Alex Ferguson a club legend, and to be spoken of in the same line as Sir Matt Busby. Biography: Born in Glasgow in 1941, Sir Alex Ferguson was playing football at an international level as a school boy. Reading: this is something that I have to say that I find surprising in this age, the relatively few and getting fewer people who read. In his autobiography, he discusses the seismic changes and growth of Manchester United into a global sports powerhouse.

He talks of how the games changed and times passed, family values and they are the ones he carries into his working life. He is famed for his dedication to Manchester United, his passion for football and his determination to win. If you are looking for Ferguson's views regarding certain players he managed or managers he faced then this book would be worthwhile. was an outstanding year for Alex Ferguson – not only did he lead Manchester United, the most glamorous club in the world, to a unique and outstanding treble triumph, but he was awarded the highest honour for his sporting achievements; a Knighthood from the Queen. The Boss’s first autobiography was published in 2000 and chronicled his life up-till that famous treble winning year of 1999. there were often no coherent links from chapter to chapter and this resulted in quite a bit of repetition throughout. Sir Alex who stepped down at the end of last season, continues on from his previous autobiography Managing My Life: The Autobiography.

There are other passages of the book that feel like a headlong rush through events that might have been more profitably reflected upon and then written about further down the line.As a player Fergie's career was more distinguished than most people know, and his account of his early days in Govan and in Scottish football are incredible, especially when one considers the pampered lifestyle of footballers nowadays, and the depths to which Scottish football has lamentably fallen.

Leading by Alex Ferguson is a profoundly interesting and superb account of the man who was a colossus in English football for more than a quarter of a century. I also didn't like the way it was written, it was full of individual chapters about specific people, clubs, events, etc. SAF had a remarkable eye for a promising player, and his record in the transfer market was simply terrific. What I find it hardest to get my head around is paying the equivalent of a major firm's annual output to acquire a man to kick a ball. During this time, he was the winner of the country’s top league the Scottish Premier Division between 1980 and 1985. Red hardback(white lettering to the spine) with Dj(small nick on the edges of the Dj cover),both in mint condition. Patrick Barclay, then the Chief Football Correspondent of The Times, published this chronicle about the life of his fellow Scotsman and Manchester United Manager Alex Ferguson in 2010.

Alex Ferguson is an entertaining, celebratory, inspiring, and revealing autobiography of arguably the best football manager in British football. Whilst there were interesting issues raised and good observations in the book, it's all just a bit dull and uninteresting in my opinion. Four times winner of Manager of the Year, he has been the manager of Manchester United for thirteen years during a time when they have become the most successful and richest club in the world. These included 13 championships in the Premier League, five cup victories in the Football Association (FA) Cup, and two Champions League titles. This honest account just goes to show how coaching and managing at the very top does not have to be rocket science. This amount includes seller specified domestic postage charges as well as applicable international postage, dispatch, and other fees. The story of not having enough funds available, the manager being paid far less than the players etc. It was so interesting to see how he looked after his talent pool and it wasn't like he was blindly keeping them on.
