I particularly liked the fungi / trees stories and loved how the stories include really good and accurate natural science in an easy to understand way. She spends her time dabbling in arts and design, crafts with a purpose and occasionally baking cake-like goods. Stories include: The Mystery of a Mushroom, The Woodwide Web, The Song of the Deer, The Flight of the Blackbirds, The Magical Metamorphosis of Frogs, The Hidden Great Horned Owl, The Stag Beetle’s Seven-Year Feast, The Dance of the Honeybee, The Little Rabbit and the Green Machine, The Moth and the Moon.Despite it being suitable for young children, it wasn't too young for mine, so I expect it is a book that would be enjoyed for many years. Gabby wrote for series one and two, available to watch on BBC iPlayer, Netflix and YouTube, and is currently writing for series three. And at the end of each story, children are invited to explore an informative “All About” page to discover more facts about the topic. My kids (6 and 8) enjoyed it immensely, although I originally bought it as a gift for a 3 year old child but now I may have to get another copy! Each “chapter” has a beautiful poetic story about something in nature then ends its with informational discussion.
