About this deal

ICONIC SOUND. IMMERSIVE COMFORT.Our cult classic with cutting-edge upgrades across the board—a headset designed to meet the needs of the modern gamer. Just plugging it in allows you to use the microphone without a problem, which means you can speak in any game with built-in chat functions at the ready. But due to the way the Xbox interface is set up, you have to fiddle with menus to hear in-game audio via the headset. I ultimately had to start a Chat party by myself to access the chat mixer settings to adjust how much game audio I heard versus chat audio. It took me 20 minutes to figure it out, and even then, I had audio coming out of the TV and the headset, with no real instructions on how to do it perfectly.

When the haptic bass feature is at 'Low', the Razer Kraken V3 Pro have a more excited sound profile than the Razer Kraken V3 HyperSense. They still have a bump in bass that adds extra boom to mixes, which can help emphasize sound effects like footsteps. Their treble response is a lot more neutral, and while it's still a bit overemphasized, dialogue and instruments sound clear and bright. If you're looking for more bass, their haptic bass feature can add more rumble and boom when set to 'High'. You can see a comparison of their raw frequency response with the different levels of haptic bass here. You can also cycle through the different levels by pressing the HyperSense button or via the app. However, there isn't much difference between the 'Low' and 'Medium' settings.ESSENTIAL IMMERSION THROUGH COMFORT.Our lightest headset in the range that’s heavy on comfort, audio performance, mic clarity, and Razer Chroma™ RGB. In some games, like Dying Light 2, the haptics are excellent, matching beat for beat with my gunshots and explosions. In other games like Doom Eternal, it can be a rumbling, headache-inducing mess. It's the same in CoD: Warzone, where the haptics destroyed my concentration and aim while also clouding the footsteps of my enemies. Note:Unfortunately, we received a defective unit. When using the haptic bass feature, we could hear rattling inside both ear cups. Some usershave also reported experiencing this issue with their units when the haptic bass feature is on. We replaced our unit and didn't experience this issue with our second pair, which works as expected. This review is tested with the second unit. If you've encountered this, please let us know in the discussions. It’s near impossible to properly ping enemy footsteps when the HyperSense is active so keep that in mind. The haptic works best in story-driven, or slower-paced games that don't have so much riding on audio accuracy. Voices in the game or on chat also activate the haptics which is an unpleasant way to listen to your mates. Razer needs to do some work to filter out voice frequencies but it's safe to say, the highest setting of the haptics is unusable for most things unless you want a mild concussion. OUR NEW FLAGSHIP HAPTIC HEADSET.Iconic sound fuses with advanced haptics to deliver a gaming experience you can not only see and hear, but feel.

Like the other headsets within the Razer Kraken family, the V3 Pro utilizes Razer Synapse to customize its RGB lighting or make adjustments to the mic/audio quality. The tabs for the V3 include a general Sound section for assigning sound properties, a Mixer to set THX Spatial settings to individual apps, and unlabeled tab for testing the calibrations of the headset’s Game, Music, and Movie Mode presets, Enhancements for audio settings, Mic for microphone settings, and Lighting to tune RGB colors. EU Declaration of Conformity for Abyssus Lite & Goliathus Mobile Construct Ed. Bundle (RZ83-0273).pdf Fortnite sounds full and clean on the Kraken V3 Pro. Gunshots have plenty of punch, and other effects (like grass under footsteps) easily come through on the headset. The THX Spatial Audio feature provides a solid simulated surround sound effect, offering fairly strong left-right directionality and giving at least a vague sense of whether a sound is coming from the front-right or rear-right.

Razer has become proficient at making headset microphones, and that talent shines through with the Kraken V3 Pro. The headset's unidirectional cardioid boom mic captures full, clear sound while reducing outside noise. My voice sounded clean in test recordings, and nearby coffee shop chatter remained low enough that I could be easily understood. We still recommend getting a separate USB microphone if you’re serious about streaming or podcasting, but the mic on this works quite well. However, the microphone itself still isn’t anything to write home about. It’ll get the job done if you need a microphone for in-game chatting or to talk to your friends over Discord, but don’t expect the sort of clarity you’d find from the best microphones on desktop. Of course, the software’s mic settings allow you to tweak its noise gate, vocal clarity, and volume normalization. And presets like Mic Boost, Conference, and Broadcast are available and do make a difference after some personal tweaking. For instance, I used Mic Boost when live streaming and could be heard loud and clear over the game’s audio when I couldn’t be heard beforehand. Software All of those ports and buttons clutter the left side of the earcup. I would rather have a button or input port placed on the right side of the headset, which only houses the button to turn off or activate Razer’s Hypersense feature. Audio Performance After that, I tweaked around a bit with the headset’s software to see how I could really get the most out of the already stellar sound. There are three settings in the audio
